well.. i decided to try somethin new, so this is what i have so far, lemme no what u think, pretty basic still, but yea...

A little too early to tell, but if you do something special with the buttons you could be on a winner. The background looks nice, however it's not really all that original as of yet. Keep working on it, it definately has potential.

the orange hurts my eyes and the black bits look like they are strainht from atmo's sig IMO.

It's got a slight more blue tinge to it than atmo's sig.

The pink makes it awkward, try using white, the winamp screenshot thing will screenshoot(?) the transparent color in whatever color they are in the bitmaps.

Pink is probably the best color for defining trans, as its not likely that a skin in that style will contain any pink. The pink areas can of course be changed once the region.txt editor has done its job.

Yeah right Actually, I do agree with you. However, for screenshots white is the preferred transcolor so we can see the skin properly.

It looks like there's a little too much contrast between the dark metal and the bright yellow lcd. Also, it doesn't look real because of the yellow. If you made it duller, had a slight bevel on the lcd and perhaps very feint scan lines... it'd look better. Also, slightly less metal would aid the effect.

There's only one good colour for the transparent: whatever the background colour is. Magenta, ugly-arse green, pink, etc. are good in that you know exactly what's transparent and what's not, but they are so in your face that they flood your eyes and what was meant to seem transparent and non-existent ends up looking REALLY opaque and in your face. For posting screenshots here, use white.
I always change the screenshot to the background it's going to be on. In my skin-making folder, I've got little BMPs with 1001winampskins blue and DeviantArt khaki in them...

ok, lil update, i did the cbuttons, kinda, i still didnt put anything to identify which button is which, but this is wut im planning, the first button is its pressed state, and the rest is are in its normal state.

LOL three posts.

I dont like the orange. The use of transparency is nice. The animations are good too. I dont like the cbutton pressed states though. That looks good only when you keep it pressed.
