I wish all WA3 Skinners Would..

2. Have color themes

3. Make a volume control that you can actually put up to 100%

4. Make something that is still visible at 1280x1024

5. Stop submitting infinished skins

6. Make more custom visuals (like in MMD3, it had more than just o-scope and s-analyzer)

i agree with one of those (number 5). why should a skinner include colour themes? much of the time they are pretty useless as the skin looks great anyway. all volume controls i have come across can go up to 100%. I have 1600x1200 res, and i can see all skins perfectly. and custom visualisations aren't easy. be glad you have any at all.

I agree with the size problem. I run at 1280x1024 on a 21" trinatron, sometimes the smaller skins are very hard for me to see. As for the rest of it, I never have a problem with the volume but I do think the "open file" should always be present, that's how I access all my files, playlists are a pain in the rear end IMHO. But as for the colors, bah, if the skin looks good, it looks good. The colors are nice on SOME skins, like MMD3, which is my current favorite skin, but on others, it'd be kind of pointless.

what do you mean "small skins", the two smallest skins i have are iflex and act3 scene1 - they aren't too small (1600x1200, 21" visible monitor). I have no problems at all with the size.

Well then your eyesight must be a lot better than mine. It's all relative, ya know? Heck, if I was at 1600x1200 I'd have trouble reading the darn text.

many people are hesitant to make custom viuals because they know heaps of people will attack them for ripping... its a catch22

Um, okay, end of story, for you, that's fine. I'm just saying that not all people see the same way, ya know? And why is this thread becoming hostile? The guy just posted what he wishes skinners would do, he didn't demand everyone do what he says. Now take three steps back from the computer, breath in, breath out... Visualize swirrled peas and then come back at it nice and calm.

As for the color themes, in some skins they're cool in others they'd be rather pointless. Nobody said they weren't work though, obviously it's work but it all depends on the skin and if it's needed. As for visualizations, heck, I don't know the first thing about those so I'm not saying a word.

If a skin doesn't have an open button, use the "L" key or the system menu.
Some skins won't look good in any other colors then the ones it was designed with <---Photograph-background skins immediately come to mind. There are a few funky volume controls out there that are broken, but again, use your keyboard; and, contact the skinner responsible and let him know, he might be able to fix it for you. As has been already mentioned, you can scale all skins using the menus; some people design their skins to be really small and out of the way (you wouldn't like my QuarkAmp, most likely). Winamp.com only accepts finished skins, other sites are free to do as they please, but remember, communities like DeviantArt and DeskMod are that much more art oriented don't require a submitted work to be functional(although that helps ratings) and the people that submit skin designs might not be technically capable of finishing them or they may lose interest or decide that it isn't worth the effort even if they could finish. Custom visuals are ok, if a skinner wants to do them, it's fine with me. If not, it's still fine with me.

If a skin doesnt have access to an option that's built in winamp just right click and you'll have everything you need in the menu.

MMD3 isn't everything, many people think that this skin is the only for WA3....shame on them.
Here for example are 226 skins added, (included MMD3) to anyone who thinks that MMD3 is perfect why bother searching something "more perfect than the perfect" ?
Move on, and d/l WMP9 :P (btw Media Center skin for Media Player 9 is very cool skin to have)

Be serious, go create using your imagination and don't be a mirror of what's going good to follow, just follow your skils and creativity.

A1) Everything I do does have a Eject button. But I've seen alot of the smaller skins that the author really had to be cautious as to what they put in, two much and the look fails, too little and it's unusuable.

A2) I'm glad you stated that you think not all themes should have color themes. Thier alot of work and alot of times (unless the author had them in mind from the start) they make things worse.

A3) Really, i've yet to find one that won't go to 100 myself (I alwasy make sure thier fully working)

A4) Besides just using the default feature of doubling the skin, Alot of skins are ment to be small and not take up Half the Screen. If you like Large skins then just avoid the compact skins.

A5). yes submitting unfinished skins to places like wa.com is a pain, but posting them here should be always fine (long as ya state it's beta) so you can get opinions and get help catching bugs.

A) Sure, I'm going to bust me arse for 3 weeks to add custom visuals on a player that has a 25x30 visual space.. RIiight.. besides the fact I have NO clue how to make one. not all players can benifit from it. Well that and the world does not revolve around that da*mn MMD3
