From the very beginning I had this issue of not knowing which wallpaper I should use which would fit my every day's desktop liking and be a nice background for Quinto at the same time. And it was a horrible task to manage. Either I was not happy with my desktop picture or with the background wallpaper while having Quinto on it. So I decided I desperately need TWO wallpapers!
For quite a while I was trying to achieve this goal with some commands which are available within Winamp's Skinning Engine. To no avail. It was officially my very last wish for my skin and was unreachable.
Last weekend I stumbled upon a very short tutorial on Winamp's Wiki page on how to create a Plug-in. One hour later my very first Plug-In was finished - a Plug-in that did (absolutely) nothing! Now I needed some cool ideas and code snippets.
Today I finished the first release of "Wallpaper Changer". This extension, once installed in Winamp\Plugins folder, changes automatically from current wallpaper to your "Winamp Wallpaper" - or should I say "Quinto Wallpaper"? All you have to do is run the installer, start Winamp, follow the message (choose an awesome background!) and enjoy. Every time you close Winamp the Plug-in will switch back to your current wallpaper.
Given the fact that Winamp cannot show the Album Cover or Online Radio Cover while streaming I would like to make suggestion to add a feature that would save a bitmap of your choice (be it *.jpg or *.png) to a particular online radio station and show it every time user listens to it. On the other hand you could as well use the online radio's official cover picture copied from their web site.
Spontaneously I would choose Album Cover Flow,Playlist Editor and Notifier as the best components for that purpose.
... Please bear in mind that I do not have influence on colors ...
I stand corrected! Apparently the <PlaylistDirectory/> object has some parameters we can use and one of them is "background". So now we have the choice between a solid color and a bitmap:
I would suggest we keep a nice solid color for the background purpose in here.
It is true that I changed the color of the display lights from yellow-ish to more white-ish as a part of the updated 3.7 design. But I see no harm in adding two buttons to the "Display Lights" option on the configuration window - "Yellow" and "White". Agreed?
Yes I chopped off some pixels from the wide side panels and totally forgot to do the same to those standard windows such as: PE, ML, VIS and VID. I will also change this for the upcoming 3.9 update.
So in both cases I would say: consider it done!
Awesome thank you so much! Looking forward to 3.9!
