Winamp 1.00 as a Modern Skin

Felt inspired to rebuild Winamp 1.00 as Modern Skin (and I was definitely not inspired by a certain event a few weeks back or so which just so happens to have Winamp 1.00 in it)


This skin aims to replicate Winamp 1.00's main window functionality down to a T, some things aren't done yet but most of what it did exists already, I'm also thinking of recreating the playlist editor and equalizer as proper wasabi components, maybe soon, dunno.

Have posted v1.4 yesterday, and quite a bit has changed too since the last time I made the initial thread.
I've also gone beyond of just replicating the main window, I've rebuild the equalizer and it's original functions in MAKI, Playlist Editor comes soon.

I think this version gets almost all of the major things emulated as best as possible, anything else after this is just going to be fixes and probably some other additions if they're possible to do.

Released v1.5.1 as a hotfix to address an issue that affected the global setting for the built-in Modern Skin song timer that I wasn't accounting for while I was building my own implementation.

I have nothing to prove and I don't specially want to promote my skin(s), but it seems you're doing the same I did 15 years ago. As the maki sources are included in the file, it could bring some help.

Neo is quite the same one, but the submission was at first refused by the Nullsoft boys 'cause they didn't want a modern clone of the "good old Winamp 2" classic skin. They changed their mind and finally published the Neo Classic.

Keep in mind that skinning was a totally useless art, which is moreover now dead. I took it as a way to keep my grey cells active, a sort of brain sport. The skinning community has now vanished, I guess because the former skinners have now more productive activities, like trying to survive in real life.

I've used Neo Classic before years ago, the only difference is that you tackle a different goal of modernizing the Classic Skin, whereas I want to preserve Winamp 1.00's look and feel (and functionality) in it's entirety, if you're craving that vintage look without having to dig up that old Winamp version, maki sources of course included.

Not sure how Neo Classic is going to help me, but I'll have a deeper look later today...
