  • 3080 TI: Extremely low fps in full screen AVS

    Hey Guys,

    I have a PC with 10900KF, 64GB, 3080TI and a 32:9 display with 5120×1440 resolution.

In MilkDrop I have very smooth graphics (I guess 120 fps) even with the highest settings (full resolution, unlimited fps, 192×144 mesh size) but in AVS with the default settings I get 3-10 fps on full screen and max. 20-25 fps in windowed mode.

Is this how it's supposed to work? If not, what should I change from the default setting to get higher fps in full screen?

AVS doesn't use the GPU but runs on CPU only, single core.
Keep in mind that this is software that was designed in the windows 98/XP era.

I guess it is what it is, I ran most presets in 400x300 or 800x600 with pixel doubling.

    I've attached my quickstart guide

OK, thanks, I didn't know that. I just saw that most of the graphics are more interesting (for me) than the others in MilkDrop.

Graphics cards are very good in rendering because they use good algorithms.
But because of that, they're also bound by the regulations of those algorithms.
Because AVS runs on CPU only, it can by nature offer more freedom to make whatever you want.

        have fun
