Thank you, Amandio.
The code is not so complex at all. Each fish has an index and some attributes. Among those there's also a list of its first n nearest neighbor's indexes. At the moment the interaction is only a dumb impulse transmission without any swarm behavior or hunting and life cycle simulation. Only sound lets them swim faster.

Mandelbox witchcraft
I have changed Martin's Mandelbox warp shader sustain variable to a value above 1.0 and I was surprised by the outcome. Then I got somehow carried away with this one.

basic object-object-interaction
Using Martin's latest mandelbox zoomer with the hole stabbed into the structure, where I still don't see through, mashed up with Martin's composite shader from the high speed version and my personal extended 2D particle simulator. Still far from any intelligence.

I have finally finished another milestone before actual flocking simulation. I ended up working 3 hours on only 5 lines of code (near the end of the per-frame section), experimenting on and tuning the targeting behaviour. This is only a prototype, mashable though.Attached Files

I have ported my elastic thread script from the spring pack to html5/js and minified the code to under 1024 characters for the not yet officially started js1k round. - see: http://cake23.de/js1k-spring.html

Oh, and Frank Reitberger invited me to talk about my other WebGL works at the FMX2013! I'm happily looking forward to meet the guy behind http://www.apexvj.com/ and several other cool graphics coders this spring in Stuttgart. I guess i must include a few words about my Milkdrop background in my talk in the slot "Realtime Graphics, Visual Effects, Web-Realtime, whatever cool shit" too...
Nevertheless i didn't write any new presets lately and I'm focussing more on web-based things.
Happy New Year to everyone!

A musician friend wants to use one of my presets at a concert this week and the "operation fatcap" is his favorite preset. so i jumped at the chance and compiled a new pack.
nothing new, just roughly 100 remixes of the original preset from this thread.
