I had also attended Matthias Zauner and David Gann's vvvv.js workshop. David just recently defended his master thesis in which he developed a terrain engine in WebGL. I just stumbled over this still open tab of a work which it was based on: https://www.classes.cs.uchicago.edu/...eTerrain00.pdf
