Okay. I made a thing. 
Today's gfx cards cannot have enough display ports, so I used one for a little third screen on my desktop. The perfect place for a fancy volume meter rendered by Winamp's Milkdrop fueled by its line-in listener.
So I used the opportunity to hack my own little Milkdrop shader. This thing is entirely driven by sound: No sound, nothing on screen. Muchos sound, muchos spinning colored thingis:
