I'm installing smoke on a Win 98 box. After the installer does it's thing and says installation complete, I open Winamp and the vis_smoke.dll plugin is not there. I did a search for that file and it shows up that it is in the Program Files/Winamp/Plugins directory. Why doesn't it show up in the visualization plugin select menu?

If you have not got Smoke in you install it normally means that you you do not have a 3D grpahics card.

won't show up in winamp viz plug-ins list
anyone having this problem might want to try reinstalling DirectX 7.0a or later (most likely you'll want to install 8.0 though):
please post here if it helps, doesn't help, etc...
cheers,
