There is a lot of spam now, I am deleting it now.

What I saw was simply some misplaced characters, so maybe no bots but just nasty users?
I added a spam regex, but that will only catch ****** stuff, sex etc.

That's the Wiki installation. Beware, it's an old version, because SF.net does not have a current PHP version available

Hey Abu, I just tried to upload a spam blacklist extension, but I don't have the right to make a new folder or upload files. So could you give the group the right to write the "wi" folder?! I had to roll back some stuff today, a Japanese version of one page was totally screwed up!

Now I know which version we use and which protections I can use, so I tried to upload the plug ins to the extension folder, but I still don't have write permissions there. I have the permissions for the wi folder, but not the sub folders. Sorry falls ich dich nerve! But it's pretty annoying to change back that stuff each and every time!

EDIT: I am going to use SpamBlacklist, because all other extensions need a newer Wiki or PHP version! I hope that this will end these stupid postings!

Well, this extension is not working for us, neither does it filter the random letters, nor the URLs posted! grrrr
I don't know if closing the wiki, so that only registered users can edit, would help? When 3.02 is done I will, as usual, send an email to ifun.de and ask them to write about the release, helping in the wiki and about donating, I hope we will win some users for translating and maintaining the wiki then (and some money for the iPhone of course)!
The only thing that will help now would be sf.net updating to a newer PHP-version, so that newer plugins would work, but...

Well, registration can be done by spam bots automatically, I guess. What about these image typing stuff they have at Wikipedia (you have to type some letters from an image for every submission)? Does that need a newer version, too?

There is a Captcha called ConfirmEdit, they say for PHP 4 you need an older version of it and it is in the Wikimedia SVN http://svn.wikimedia.org/viewvc/medi...s/ConfirmEdit/ but I can't fin anything else than the new version, which requires PHP 5! It only generates simple captchas, so with an extra addon to ConfirmEdit called FancyCaptcha you would have stronger captchas, but that needs an installed phyton library too.
There is also reCaptcha, but it needs Wikimedia 1.8+! grrr
So it does look like manually deleting the spam!
