ml_ipod broken on Windows 7?

After installing the ml_ipod plugin on my Windows 7 machine Winamp refuses to open. I tried running it in various compatibility modes but no luck. Has anyone had similar problems or any idea of what could be causing this?

Some details:
Winamp v 5.6.1 (newest version)
ml_ipod v 3_08 (newest version)
Laptop: HP G42 - Intel P6200 chipset - Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

3.08 is not the lastest version of ml_ipod. 3.10 is the current version though generally the plug-in is not being developed now.

Do you have to have itunes installed to use winamp with an ipod? I downloaded ml_ipod. 3.10 plugin, but Winamp is not detecting my ipod. The hard drive is.

iTunes does not need to be installed and in fact can cause problems if it is. What iPod are you using? Don't know if Win7 makes a difference.

I am using Ipod Nano 4. I installed itunes and it works now. I just can't get it to work with only winamp.
