    winamp->preferences->file types

"show winamp in folder context menus in windows explorer"

when you install over an older version this option is always [re-]checked even if it was unchecked by the user from a previous version.

i doubt this is system dependent but enjoy:

Little bit of a strange bug here. Here are my specs:

Windows XP w/SP1 [all updates, too]
        40 gig hard-drive
        P4 2.4 ghz
        512 ddr physical memory
        DVD/CD-RW drive
        Conexant AMC AUDIO
        Radeon IGP 345M

        Winamp 5 FINAL
        v5.0 (x86) - Dec 14 2003

PS: -running on a laptop [HP ze5475ca]
-all hardware is running on latest hardware/firmware
-bios has been updated to 2003-10-16 revision [dont know if this even matters]

I hope no one picked up this bug up earlier, but I searched for about 10 minutes and couldn't find this "bug".

I'm using the modern skin and when both playlist and main window are put in stick-mode, then docked into the bottom-right hand corner of my screen...

...the playlist begins to act very weird. In the same docked [locked with the main window] if I were to open up my playlist and begin to scroll [this is with a mouse wheel] the main window jumps from the docked position and goes somewhere else.

        Hope this visual interpretation helps...

        BEFORE:

AFTER opening playlist and start scrolling:

This is a weird "bug" because the main windows jumps to different places each time the playlist is used.

Hope this gets fixed soon. If I am doing something wrong, could someone help me out? Thanks for the read.

          Running WinAmp final build
          WinXP SP1
          AMD 3200+, 1024mb DDR Ram
          Radeon 9700Pro, Catalyst 3.9
          Dual monitor and Ultramon

          Problem.
I´m running Winamp on my secondary monitor and I do have a seperate taskbar in that monitor. But for some reason it want to show Winamp in the primary monitors taskbar.

When I try to move Winamp to the other taskbar it gets strange.

            Media Library crashes

            Winamp 5.0 Final Build:
            Dec 14 2003
            System specs (mobo, cpu, ram):
            MSI 845PE Max2, Pentium 4 2.4Ghz, 1Gb RAM
            OS, Including Service Packs:
Windows XP - SP1 incl. all updates
Video Card, Video Card Drivers :
            MSI Ti 4200 128Mb
            Sound Card, Sound Card Drivers:
            Creative Live! Value
            DirectX version:
            9.0b

I've tried adding several, 500+ files, albums to my media library with the standard modern skin turned on. After doing this winamp hangs, and finally crashes.
Then I try to restart winamp, which works, and then I choose _any_ of the views in the media library, and it hangs all over again - and finally crashes.

I have assigned a shortcut key to the Winamp shortcut(This can be done in the file properties of the shortcut)

After Winamp is opened, and not the active window, i should be able to switch to Winamp by pressing the shortcut key.

When using classic skins this works fine, but when using modern skin the player doesn't show.

              System specs:
              P4 2.4ghz
              Abit IS7
              512MB RAM
              Creative Geforce4 Ti4200 64mb
Win2000 Fully updated with all patches etc.

Windows refuse to remain NOT on the current desktop (when using a virtual desktop)

                  Win2k, SP4
                  Winamp5 (x86) - Dec 14, 2003

Using a virtual pager called 'JSPager' (http://hem.fyristorg.com/jspage/), and when I use a skin other than Classic, Winamp will force itself into the current desktop - but in a random place (playlist will show up in onw location, and the main console will show up in another). I got it to stop doing this, by setting "Compatibility mode" for window classes 'Winamp PE' and 'Winamp v1.x' (a setting in JS Pager).

The reason I'm reporting this, is this was NOT a problem in the Winamp5 BETA (or any other previous winamp version).

BTW, I'm unable to even switch to a Modern Skin now - I get an exception.

                  Thanks,

                  -Taner

please send me a PM (private message)
with the details of the Exception error,
so I can edit it into your report.
Your report is pretty much useless without this essential info.

Also include graphics card & driver version details
                  plus DirectX version.
Please also send the same complete report to the JSPager people.

                      directx9

this has happened twice since I installed it. I left winamp running in winshade mode along the top of my screen. when I returned (hours later) there was an error message. Winamp has encountered an error...send error report..etc. (the monitor was sleeping..don't know if that matters.)

                        playlist mouse wheel scrolling

pre-reqs: user has mouse set to scroll in 'screen' increments.

info: winamp ignores the windows mouse scroll setting and scrolls by the preset value. this is normally not an issue, as it only requires a bit more wheel movement to get where you're going in the playlist.

issue: if the playlist is small enough that scrolling by one increment skips several entries in the list

result (and workaround): user must either use the scrollbar or expand the height of the playlist window.

note: having the playlist window the same size as the main window causes this, as the playlist window is small enough skip one complete entry per wheel increment.

if the integration with the windows mouse settings is too hard, please consider reducing the amount of wheel scroll by one line (so proper scrolling can occur where the playlist and main windows are the same height).

thanks for listening, and hope this helps improve winamp.
                        Al

                          Couple of odd 'uns here...

                          I'm using the final release of Winamp 5 (as well... I suppose an upgrade from 2.91 -> rc8 -> rc666 -> final)

                          Specs AMD Athlon XP 2600+
                          256Mb RAM
MSI MS-6390 Motherboard (using on board graphics [S3 ProSavage DDR?] and sound [RealTek AC97?])

When I start a video thread, part of the Media Library 'blanks' and you have to scroll up and down to see it again. I thionk this only happens when you have the video window at Doublw size and next to (not on top of) the Media Library window)

Also, trying to read a CD of MP£s burned in a trial version of RealOne Player which plays fine in any other application (including WMP and Freeamp) and my (crappy) MP£ CD player, the three sessions on the disk just show up as 'Data Tracks' and not as a list of the tracks within each session, meaning I can't play them.

(If you need screenshots, they'll have to follow, sorry)

It's a bug I posted for the earlier RC versions, and still in the final one:

Ok, I have a simple bug, easy to reproduce, and probably easy to correct.

When I'm in the Media Library, and if I have two albums with the same name, but from different artists (it's the case when you have "Greatest Hits" albums), when you try to play them with "Play all files from Greatest Hits" it will play all of the "Greatest Hits" albums.

                            For exemple, I have
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Greatest Hits
                            Savage Garden - Greatest Hits

If I select a song from the Savage Garden album, and choose the option "Play all files from Greatest Hits", it will ADD BOTH OF THE ALBUMS to the playlist.

It happens with Classic/Modern skin, with and without 3rd party plugins.

                            Winamp 5.0 Final
Laptop Toshiba Tecra S1, Centrino 1.5Ghz, 512 RAM
                            Windows XP SP1
                            Radeon 9000, 6280
                            Soundmax Digital Integrated Audio

                              Opacity to 100% on hover

the wonderful feature mentioned in the subject has a kind of bug, i think:
also if winamp isn't in the foreground or even minimized, the opacity changes when you come over the area of the screen where winamp is or would be if it wasn't minimized.

                              my system:
                              p4 2,3 ghz
                              512 mb ram
win xp home, no idea of sps
ati radeon 9500 pro, latest driver
some old creative soundcard, very old drivers which work best.
latest directx, so 9.0b i guess
