          Can no longer play a folder full of shortcuts

          Before I upgraded to 5.3, I used to be able to do the following:

          (with Winamp not running)
          1. Right-click on a Windows folder containing nothing but shortcuts to MP3 files
          2. Select "Play in Winamp" or "Enqueue in Winamp"

          The files would all load up into the playlist editor and play.

          Now, when I do that, Winamp opens/loads, but the playlist editor is empty, and Winamp pops up a "Open file(s)" dialog box.

          I uninstalled and reinstalled - same result.

          Winamp 5.3 - clean install
          -Pentium 3.0GHz, 1Gig RAM
          -Windows XP SP2 (all updates applied)

          [Edit --> DJ Egg]
          Reproduced. Thanks.

            Memory Error

            Hello, I do have 4 PC's here in a small Network.

            I could reproduce the following error on every PC in the Network (different Hardware-Configurations, same OS, same Proggs, same WinAmp-Version (Clean Install: WinAmp 5.3), no WinAmp-Plugins.

            It happens, when I edit the ID3-Tags of MP3-Files, which lies on an local File-Server.

            Greetnx,

            CyberDreams

            PS: Sorry for bad english :-(

            PPS: It doesn't happen on each editing of ID3-Tag....

            [Edit --> DJ Egg]
            Please confirm that you are using the updated in_mp3.dll as referenced here & here

              I have the exact same problem. Removed 5.3, installed 5.24 - problem gone. reinstall 5.3, problem returns.

              Happy to help with any info you need to solve this.

                Afaik, that was an incompatibility bug in an old version of the 3rd-party Drag+Drop plugin. Make sure you've got the latest version. And please read the first post in the thread before posting here (ie. the bit which refers to a confirmation of a clean install with no 3rd-party plugins ;-)

                    Hi guys.
                    I guess I've found a bug in Winamp 5.3:
                    What I do to reproduce it:
                    First of all I open the Playlist Editor and the Media Library. Then I add a few songs from the ML without closing the ML afterwards. I double-click the last song in the playlist so it starts playing. Then I press "Del" on my keyboard so the playlist-entry disappears, but the song continues playing. Then I mark one of the tracks in the playlist with a single click. I switch to the ML, right-click the song that is playing at the moment and select "View file info..." then I change the Album or Artist tag [for example by adding a single space] and click "Update" to save the changes. The tags are changed, but at the moment you press Update the song that was after the one that was just playing [in the playlist's order] is suddenly playing, starting from the position where the previous one was.
                    Hope you can reproduce that one too.
