Windows VISTA CD Burning Broken

Whoa...

Please tell me its just me and i'm doing something wrong. But CD burning doesn't work in Windows Vista with the latest WinAMP. I put a cd in and it doesn't recognized that i've inserted a blank disc. I can't even send anything to the drive. However I can play CDs that are already burned.

I have two drives a DVD-RW and a CD-RW they both do it.

Athlon XP 2700+
2GB of DDR MEM
The Drives are Generic Drives
DVD is 8x Dual Layer Drive
CDRW is a 32x Drive
Windows Vista Ultimate
