Winamp crashing when adding/scanning some mp3's

Okey, so I have got a problem that when I load files to playlist and while it's reading the title names, windows finds an error and winamp must be shut down, the problem probably is that winamp cant read a file or something like that. dont know. It always gets jammed up while I am loading files to media player. Always on the 54%. Probably the same thing. It used to work on the old winamp, but not with the new 5.5 one. I also have another problem. I used the old playlist I created with the old winamp and added files to the playlist and everytime I click a file and select it and deselect it by clicking a another song, the title disappears and the song length goes to 0:00, or sometimes it clones another title for example ATB - Don't Stop to every song I click. I had the same problem with one of the old winamps age's ago. So if anyone has had the same problem and has been able to solve it please help me. Thanks.

Information required when posting --> List Of Plugins

The 2nd problem (maybe the first one as well?) is caused by using an old version of the 3rd-party Drag+Drop plugin. Check for updates here.

If not using that plugin, then it must be some other 3rd-party plugin to blame.

Just found a plugin that is also newly broken. As far as I can tell it's caused by the new location for 'winamp.m3u'.
Sounds like yours may be a similar problem.

Which plugin?

Hmm, there probably should still be a copy of winamp.m3u in the Winamp program folder, but still, I guess it's up to the author(s) to update their plugin(s) for multi-user support.

I was just about to suggest banzq try disabling gen_lyrics.dll as a start.

The one I had the problem with was gen_lyric3.dll

Okey, when I was adding songs to the medialibrary or playlist it crashed so I quessed the problem would be in a single song. I divided all my songs in to 6 folders and added the folders separately and found out that in which folder the "broken" file was. Then I again divided the songs in to 6 folders and so on before I found the songs that were broken. There were 3 songs altogether and I tried to find out why those songs did not work with winamp. But I did not find anything special from those songs. The didn't have any special characters and they all were mp3's and they worked fine with another player (BSPlayer). But I deleted those files and solved the problem.

I don't think that the 1st problem is caused by a plugin because I installed a clean version of Winamp 5.5 to the directory .../Program Files/Winamp2 and it had no extra plugins and the adding did not work either with the "clean" winamp.

Hmm, I guess it would be nice if we could upload the fixed in_mp3 somewhere. I'll ask the powers that be, but if they say 'No', then this paragraph will just disappear. But please don't ask when 5.51 will be released. When it's ready and as soon as possible is the only answer I can give.

The above patch was intended for v5.5 only, and is not to be used for any newer Winamp version (ie. not for 5.51 or 5.52 etc etc).
