ok, this is a really weird one.
i DL'd some bootleg files for a SRV show at the Mann, from here:
i think they had id3v1 and v2 tags, but i also think they were mostly blank. not sure though exactly.
in any case, i tagged them in ML. they are two discs. i stripped the v1 stuff.
they have no disc or track number tags.
i left their title tags as is.
i put:
Stevie Ray Vaughan ...for AA
Stevie Ray ...for Artist
Mann Music Center 1987.06.30 (CD1)
or
Mann Music Center 1987.06.30 (CD2)
...for album
1987 ...for Year
Abstract ...for publisher
Blues ...for genre
now, when i sort in either direction for AA on CD1, (12 tracks), nothing happens. this is what i would expect.
HOWEVER, when i sort in either direction for AA on CD2, (6 tracks), the titles start to "move" such that the numbers climb.
so if i sort by title, i can reverse it, and it goes 1 to 6 or 6 to 1. thats expected and correct, (because the title has the track number in it). however, if i then go from sorting title 1 to 6, to clicking on AA, with sorting triangle up, the first track goes TO THE BOTTOM, and track 2 is listed first/at the top. if i then click AA again, track 2 goes to the bottom, and 3 is first. this continues infinitely, it just keeps going around the horn.
obviously, something is weird here. why does it do that? i don't think its anything in my tags, (checked with mp3tag) and even if i had odd tags, it shoudn't "advance" the order like that, it should just go one way, then reverse. (or actually, do nothing, as CD1 does)
