Fresh installation, no language pack installed, update installed, no scrobbler and still the same shit. Winamp freezes when I try to pause and resume it via the taskbar player.

Just importing my collection. I can't do this with my normal pc, only with the laptop.
    Gonna give feedback later.

Okay, I'm getting out of ideas here. Another problem showed up:

Song is playing, Winamp is minimized in the taskbar. When I want to use the basic taskbar player to pause the song, I can't unpause it. Winamp freezes again.

How can I confirm? Is the active plugin the first one in the list? I attached a screenshot of the output plugin screen. I've removed the Wasabi Output after reading post #7.

    1. Done
    2. Was already unchecked

I'm gonna make a new try tomorrow.

The active Output plugin is whichever one is selected/highlighted,
so in your case = DirectSound Output.

There's a known issue (in the RC builds) where playing hi-res 24bit/352.8kHz flac files with DirectSound Output causes a hang/freeze - but we've not been able to reproduce it with mp3 or other formats.

What file formats are you playing?
Are they all mp3, or other formats?
Or are they hi-res flac files?

The report says DirectSound Output is active.
Please confirm. Just so we know for sure it's not a problem when playing e.g. wma files with Wasapi Output

Also, for troubleshooting purposes... please uncheck "Use dither" in: Winamp => Prefs => Playback
Also uncheck "Remove silence at beginning/end of track" in: Prefs => Plugins => Output => DirectSound => Config => Other tab

Damn, I had hopes... Some more songs were playing, but now It's freezed again. Never in the middle of a song, always after it's finished. No error message, just freezing and I can't maximize the window.

Even the 5.8 beta worked perfectly well.

    Oh, that's not good :-(

Does it still happen if you switch to the default English translation instead of the de-de lang pack?

Well, didn't expect that: running the RC4 on my laptop, withoutthe scrobbler plugin. Same problem! Winamp plays a song and then freezes. Report is attached.

I was pretty sure that the scrobbler is the problem, but the plugin was not installed and the scrobbler wasn't running in the background.
