how do you get the most played in media library to work?

What do you mean "get it to work"? What's it doing (or not doing) for you?

well its blank it doesnt add anything nore does recently played and recently added

Did you look through the ML preferences? Thoroughly?

You have to add the folder to the Media Library List.

Preferences > Media Library > Media Importing

I was trying to figure out the same thing, and then I added my music DIR to the list; now it works.

Edit: Also make sure "Automatically add played files" is checked (Located under the dir listing in the Media Importing tag)
