  • Uploading album art to iPod

I finally caved in and bought a refurb 30GB... I used 5.3 to upload music with no problems, but I would like to know if it's possible to upload cover art as well (with Winamp and not iTunes).

For reference, I have my music like so:
    E:\Kris's Music\Artist\Album\Track.mp3

I have one JPEG for each album folder that is the album art.

I also have Winamp just to regonize audio files, to the ML only loads my mp3's, FYI if that matters.

I searched but nothing came up...

Winamp's iPod support doesn't support Album Art.

What about another alternative to iTunes that supports album art?

I would love to see this feature as well. It is one of the last items that keeps iTunes installed on my system. Gotta have the album art, so I don't do any syncing/transferring in Winamp. I would so love to be able to do all my iPod management in Winamp and never touch iT. Is someone working on this Will, or is this just on the "we will get to it sometime" wishlist? Just curious. Thanks for the hard work.

From what I've heard, at the moment its in design phase. I believe the plan is to implement it in core, and expose it in ml_pmp first. Then eventually roll out to wherever its applicable. So yeah, you should be the first to have a solution when its implemented.

Winamp itself should support Album Art first, heh

Album art and syncing PopCast directly from the SHOUTCast Wire area of the Media Library are the two things that I would love to see in the next version of Winamp. )

                        Any news on that?

Really looking forward to being able to dump iTunes. Thanks!

I've started using Winamp today to support my iPod classic after iTunes didn't work.
Its uploaded some cover art but not all!?

Any ideas why it wouldn't upload all coverart?

The iPod plugin that comes preinstalled with the new Winamp has a lot of crappy bugs and has little to no feature in it. Uninstall that plugin as quickly as possible and install the ml_ipod plugin found here: http://mlipod.sourceforge.net/

This was the original ipod support you had to use before winamp came preinstalled with it. It has a crap ton of features and works just as good as iTunes (in terms of it supported everything about the iPod) and more. I would highly recommend getting this instead, and all your troubles will be gone.
