    Nullsoft Musepack Decoder v1.0 Beta

    http://meggamusic.co.uk/winamp/mpc/in_mpc.exe
    http://stashbox.org/745693/in_mpc.exe

    Supports:
-Global 'Allow 24bit', 'Use Replay Gain', etc settings in Winamp > Prefs > Playback
-ReplayGain Analyzer (saved to APEv2 tags)
    -Media Library metadata importing
-Burning to Audio CD (via: ML > Rip & Burn)

For use with Winamp 5.3x and above.
Please confirm that you are using the latest version when reporting any issues.

Note that many of the redundant options/settings have been removed from in_mpc config.
Alas, transcoding is currently broken with newer versions of Winamp :-(

Plugin is provided 'as-is' for beta testing purposes only. Support will not be provided.
Please report any issues/bugs in this thread ONLY. Any feedback is welcome :-)

    Update: 23rd Dec 2009

-Repackaged with required nscrt.dll so it'll work on clean installs of 5.571+
    -Cleaned up Prefs dialog
-No other code changes whatsoever (ie. no SV8 support, transcoding still broken).

Hmm, I guess this must confirm just how popular Musepack is then...?

Or just that nobody has found any bugs yet (aside from quirks in the preferences window that I assume is just minor residue). I mean, you did say that this is a bug-reporting thread... *used the plugin for a couple of hours last night w/o problems*

Ahh, right, heh. I've added "Any feedback is welcome" to the end of the first post.

            Thanks.

So Egg, what happened to Nullsoft not really wanting to take the time to add native support for a format that's barely hanging on by a thread? Not to be a jerk or anything, I'm just curious. What made you guys decide to work on this?

Was probably as a result of this thread.

I haven't noticed anything other than the options window not keeping settings and the giant blank space to the left of the window.

Yeah, 'Dither output' and 'Use tags for title formatting' aren't used any more.

It now uses Winamp's global settings ('Dither' in Prefs > Playback, and 'Use ATF' in Prefs > Titles), so those two options probably need removing (ooh, even more gray space!)

Basically, the config still needs tidying up, and will probably end up being half the size when it's done.

half the size will reduce half of the gey space

are there any other mpc things coming? (ripping)
and will this once be in the final distro or in wa essentials?

i'd have thought it'd be more likely to go in the essentials package (the sheer abundance of replies to this shows it's just too popular for the main distro ) but that's really down to the devs to make the call on it (possibly going how it went with in_flac initially in essentials to main distro but really depends on how useful it would be i guess)

                            The plugin works perfectly.
The only small bug I found is that when applying replay-gain it will not immediately apply.
I could only compare it to a FLAC files that immediately applies the replay-gain.

It's much more likely this will end up just stuck in the winamp.com plugins pages. Obviously, as assumed, MPC is pretty dead and not many people will really be that interested in having to download it as part of a winamp bundle (be it the winamp package, or essentials).
