Reporting Bugs:

Please report any issues with the beta in this thread only.
Make sure your report is complete, according to the sticky threads in Bug Reports, ie.
Clean install, no 3rd-party plugins, full step-by-step method of reproduction, relevant system specs, exact error messages, screenshots, which skin (one of Classic, Modern, or Bento only, or all three), links to sample files, etc.
If error reports, screenshots, sample files, etc are smaller than 100kb, then please attach them to your post here. Otherwise, please upload to one of stashbox.org (recommended), mediafire.com, or sendspace.com and post the url here (no rapidshare or imageshack or similar links please).
Note that incomplete/lame bug reports may be totally ignored.

Notes:

-Winamp Bento skin does not appear in the Skin Selector list in the installer,
-so for now, you'll need to select it from the Skins menu after Winamp opens.

-Album Art support is almost complete, but not quite...
-Lookup order: embedded (in tags), %album%/cover/folder.jpg/gif/png.
-Note: The cache is the art*.* files in the "Plugins\ml" folder
-(art.dat, art.idx, art60.dat/idx, art90.dat/idx, art120.dat/idx).
-Downloader access via: Art view rt-click menu, unified file info & pmp edit info box
-(doesn't work via rt-clicking the icon in Bento info pane, yet).
-Currently saves as %album&.jpg in the containing folder.

-mp3surround is playback only for now (no encoding).
-You can find tracks at www.all4mp3.com/music/

-Playlist Generator is still in early beta (rt. click ml/pledit items > Play tracks similar to).
-Notes:
-1) Manual config via: Prefs > Plugins > Media Library > ml_plg.dll > config
-2) Initial Scan may take some time. The more files in your mldb, the longer...
-3) Limited to 20 results only (with option to change coming later)
-4) Obeys the Play/Enqueue as default action in ML Prefs
-5) Database stored in Winamp\Plugins\Gracenote (along with all other GN/CDDB files).
-6) Selected item is not in the generated list (but will be in a later beta).

-Re: Skinned ml scrollbars
-For support, Wasabi version needs to be specified as 1.3 in skin.xml, eg.

Known Bugs/Issues:

-Winamp Bento skin does not appear in the Skin Selector list in the installer, so for now, you'll need to select it from the Skins menu after Winamp opens (important enough to mention twice).

-Bento skin crashes Winamp when scaling it down to less than 100% *

-On startup, the Bento skin can occassionally leave a portion of the media library drawn on top of/underneath other windows. It goes away when you move a window over it. Note that the same can happen if switching from a skin where the Video window is open, which results in the Video tab being active in Bento instead of ML (click the Media Library tab to fix).

-In the Bento skin, the media library will occassionally not fill the entire tab (switch to Video tab and back to fix).

-Bento skin: Time display overlaps songticker area if too many digits (eg. -104:04) *

-Bento skin: 'Show Album Artist / Composer' can't be unchecked in File Info Components until after 'Show Publisher' is unchecked, and then can't be re-checkmarked *

Oops, this was a 5.36beta-specifc bug and is actually not fixed in this build! Sorry. *

-New CDDB features may still be a bit buggy (eg. genre saves with "General" at front)

-Album Art retrieval criteria and writing/saving isn't configurable... yet!

-Alt+3 album art editor is fairly incomplete and won't find all album art.

-'Get Album Art' doesn't find compilations very well, and doesn't find art when album names have "notes" at the end like "Dark Angel [EP]". Also note that 'Get Album Art' isn't working yet via the rt-click menu in Bento skin infopane (but works fine via rt-clicking a cover icon in an AlbumArt pane in the ML).

-Album Art API doesn't deal with illegal filename characters yet < : \ " / ? | >

-Shift+cursor in Album Art pane (icons view) not working as expected *

-The thumbscroll button on the scrollbar might not automatically move when you scroll down an albumart pane using the mousewheel. This issue seems to affect enhanced-mode dualwheel/5-button+ mice, eg. A4Tech *

-Songticker related issues are known (slight lag, shadow on first & last chars in Winamp Modern winshade, dbl-click not opening File Info in Winamp Modern winshade, etc) *

-Songticker in Classic skin shows playlist entry number -1 (eg. if track 50 is playing, songticker displays 49.) *

-Some AVS presets are broken in this build. Sorry, this is a compiler related issue and should hopefully be fixed in time for 5.5 Final

-There might be some crashes with pmp_ipod on some ipod models *

-Station Info window is broken (blank content) (I think we're getting rid of this anyway / not sure?)

-Blank 'History' item in Prefs tree when Show History is disabled in Prefs *

-'playplays' and truncated text at bottom of ml History view *

-Rescan Watch Folders at Startup & Rescan every xx minutes = broken (again!) *

-Orig. Artist field not updating in ID3v2 tag *

-Some cbr mp3's are reported as vbr in File Info

-Drag+drop from Local Media views to pledit not respecting complex ATF syntax *

-We're seeing a few reports of crashing under Vista (crash on exit, when switching skins, when running vis plugins, etc). These issues are being looked into and, if reproduced, will hopefully be addressed/fixed for the next beta and/or in time for 5.5 Final.

-Alas, Winamp 5.5 is no longer compatible with Win9x (Win 98/ME), and all support for those OS'es has now been discontinued.

Two things (I use Winamp in windowshade mode btw):
- the start of the track title fades in, making the first letter hard to read.
- double clicking the title doesn't open File Info as it did before.

Bento looks interesting, but the windowshade is too small (especially the seeker) for me.

Another one: when adding a smart view, the "filter" options in the bottom don't become visible until you click "Advanced >>", but they also don't disappear when clicking "<< Simple".

Also, the files from my "Tracks" folder (single songs I don't have the album of) all seem to have the same cover. There's probably a .jpg from Windows Media Player in there, but I can't see it (maybe because it's a network share). I guess there's no easy solution for that I guess.

You did all my wishes with the Songtickers... I LOVE IT!! Nice...
But, some tips/ideas.....
I love the songticker(s), but it may need some optimizing/adjustment (for lag/kick)...
When looking at the songticker (both classic and modern -style), it lags a little bit... I would like to see it optimized to not lag so much...
When using the "modern style" only, it also lags more than before..
When using the "classic style" only, it will sometimes get a "lag/kick" in 1 second, which pushes the text to the right, and then keep scrolling again (this is not the same lag as in "modern" style).....
When I read the text, it is annoying that it will be pushed to the right (when using the "classic style")... If you could fix that "lag-kick", it would be great...

Therefore, I got an idea:
In prefs/skins/modern skin there is an option for "Timers Resolution", which adjusts the speed for "Spectrum Analyzer", and the "Songticker".
What if the songticker has it own "speed-bar"? I got that idea, because when I set the "Timers Resolution" to "as fast as possible for this machine", the songticker were scrolling incredible fast.... Its not needed, but an own speed-bar for the songticker would be great... If we get an own speed bar, we could set the "Timers Resolution" to high, so the spectrum analyzer goes fast, and then set the songticker speed to what we want...


EDIT: It would be nice if you could upgrade this skin with the new options and stuff also (album art-skinning), songticker options etc..)

is already known (and was part of the reason i've not been to sleep since 10am yesterday morning with trying to work out what has borked in the building of the dll) since i can't even get the 2.81d code to build out a valid version (since that was how we'd been building versions of avs). i've got to test out a few other things first but we will get a fully working avs again since it's my favourite vis plugin (and yes i'm waiting for the tirade of abuse for causing another failed build of the avs dll but then again if the code wasn't so tempremental then we wouldn't have this issue all of the time - all i can say is bring it on )
