DrO does it again! Thanks for the plugin update!

edit: Great. Company firewall blocked that...I'll check it at home.

Finally got home to check it out (Business trip).

If (you are so inclined) to work on a v0.4, any chance of implementing jph6t's idea?

To me, it would make it just about perfect. (It's already pretty close...)

        A fantastic plugin!

Album Art now appears with all skins ...

One less reason for me to go back to iTunes.

"having a view a bit like that in the media library would be nicer imho as well" - the real problem is that i barely code nowadays as my priorities have changed so i may do something in the future but i'm not going to commit myself to that happening. just making it act like a properly integrated window is a good start i think (and reminded me that i need to port some changes from this into my jtfe plugin so it'll work nicely if Winamp was minimised on startup).

OK, understood. I wasn't asking for it right away. Just a "yeah, maybe I might do that eventually." Which I think we may have just gotten, but I know you don't kill yourself for Winamp anymore. Any lovin' this plugin gets is good.

Thanks so much for this plug-in! It's really nice!

              Two questions:

              - Is it possible to configure it to automatically get the album art from the Internet, if not found in the files, instead of right-clicking and selecting "get album art"?

              - If the above is not possible, for a reason or another, is there a way to make the double-click on the plug-in to get the album art instead of opening the current folder (which is not useful for me)?

              Thanks a lot!

                    Album Art Viewer v0.4
                    • Added localisation support (with example en-us language file included in the installer)
                    • Adding an option to show the album art when clicking on an item in the playlist editor without having to play it
                    • Fixed the main menu item not working via the system menu
                    • Plug-in will now only work on 5.53+ clients to ensure the Alt+A global shortcut will work (bug-fix for v0.3)
                    • Fixed issue with api.h not containing all of the required headers (only affects compiling source code)
Is funny the things you think off when you start using a plug-in yourself hence the main reason for the updating being the option to show the album art when clicking on an item in the playlist editor (won't work when using the up/down arrows) which is useful when previewing files and seeing if they have album art. And of course a few minor bug fixes.

As for the information display request, i've still to look into it as the change i've made was quickly pulled from my Single Click 'n' Play plug-in (for the selection tracking) and the language exmaple code (for the localisation support). Hopefully i will get around to doing that for another release (but no promises, heh).

                    Source Files

The updated source files to allow a v0.4 compile are availabe in this archive. These are designed to replace the v0.2 source in the current sdk and hopefully these updates will make it into future sdk's as well.

To have it generate the language file & update the compiled plug-in at compile time, the following was used in the post-build project settings (working against VS2008) with the linker output path set to the Release folder:
                    lng_generator.exe "$(OutDir)\$(ProjectName).dll" /build
                    copy "$(OutDir)\$(ProjectName).dll" "$(ProgramFiles)\Winamp\Plugins\gen_classicart.dll" /y

I already translated it to polish (it will be probably distributed with my langpack extended version).

                          I guess I found a glitch.

                          1. Open any classic skin
                          2. Show the Classic Album Art Window
                          3. Switch to Winamp Modern
                          4. Open main right click menu (note that the album art option is unchecked for whatever reason!)
                          5. Check Album Art in Winamp Modern's main rt click menu

                          Result: http://meggamusic.co.uk/shup/1265433424/cart.png

Is it really wanted to have 2 album art windows?

well i'm not able to reproduce any issues with the menu item for _this_ plug-in being unchecked when switching to a modern skin.

i'm guessing part of the confusion is that there are two menu entries in the menu but that's how it has worked ever since the album art window was added to modern skins and this plug-in works when it is installed. so there's not too much i can do about it unless i bodge in a way of determinig if it's a modern skin being loaded and it auto-hides this plug-in's menu entry but that is likely to cause more annoyance or i could change the main menu item so it's clearer (under modern skins) that this is an alternative album art window though not sure what to change the menu entry to if i did that...

as this plug-in is only really designed to be working under a classic skin only then it is working as it has been designed from what i can see.

                              Album Art Viewer v0.5
                              • Added detection of being used under a modern skin so the album art window and menu item can be automatically hidden (default: on)
                              • Added in ability for the tracking action to work via the keyboard actions along with button clicking
                              • Tweaked the menu item text so the items (at least with en-us translations) is better consistant with the rest of Winamp (if that's possible, heh)
                              • Added config menu into the Winamp preferences so it's possible to access the options when the album art window isn't shown
We can blame koopa for this update, hehe. Also contains an update language file due to an additional string and the changes with the menu item styling. Also this version will now track up/down keyboard selection changes (when shift/control/alt aren't held down as that causes multiple selections).

                              Source Files

The updated source files to allow a v0.5 compile are availabe in this archive. These are designed to replace the v0.4 source from the previous release (which itself is designed to replace the v0.2 source in the current sdk) - time is a bugger that i don't have to completely update the archive for a complete v0.5 replacement of the v0.4 source.

To have it generate the language file & update the compiled plug-in at compile time, the following was used in the post-build project settings (working against VS2008) with the linker output path set to the Release folder:
                              lng_generator.exe "$(OutDir)\$(ProjectName).dll" /build
                              copy "$(OutDir)\$(ProjectName).dll" "$(ProgramFiles)\Winamp\Plugins\gen_classicart.dll" /y

Hey, I was wondering if you could give me advice on what skin elements this plugin uses? I read through the thread, and as I understand it, the plugin should be reading something from the skin and make it look "native", but my layout looks like this:

It must be reading SOMETHING from the skin, since the shrink button is copied from the skin I use (and when I shrink it, the expand button is also blue like my skin). But, I figure because the skin I use is some super old 2.x skin I fell in love with a 100 years ago, it was probably made with some legacy elements that aren't working with this plugin.

Since the skin itself is pretty simple, it would be easy to make the missing elements myself, I think, and throw them into the skin, but I don't know what parts of the skin the plugin would be reading. Any help would be appreciated

It's a completely awesome plugin, by the way. Works perfectly. Thanks
