    Hey. I've tried WA v5.572 now and sorry but I dont see the problem (lag/delay) anymore, at least not as much as before. I really saw the problem in the original 5.57 (beta), but it got improved/optimized for 5.57 final according to the changelog. Since that its been ok for me, I love it.

    When thats said I use the Winamp Modern skin and not Bento etc. I know for a fact that in Bento (I mean Big Bento), the spectrum analyzer is really slow compared to other skins. It really is slow! Maybe its just the fact that the whole analyzer is bigger in size than in other skins (so its just my imagination), but whatever it is I dont like the spectrum analyzer in Big Bento. It looks too slow for me there. It would be awesome if you could make it better/faster/more responsive for Big Bento though..

    Btw;
    Timers resolution is 15ms for me.
    Spectrum analyzer settings (on right-click) are on default; Peak Fallow Speed "MODERATE", Analyzer Falloff Speed "FAST".

      Maybe it would be good to tell him WHERE to find that file (I assume he doesn't know)?

      Start -> Run -> Type "%AppData%" (without the quotation marks) -> Go to the "Winamp" folder -> Delete the file "studio.xnf".

          Thanks.

          @Kn0tte
          For me only the fastest setting for Analyzer Falloff Speed somehow removes that lag effect. On "Fast" is slow like a turtle. I'll try to clean install if that wont help then I'll stay at 5.56 :/

          //EDIT
          I've tryed clean install. Slow as hell!
          Maybe this has something to do with Beat Vis tweaks?
          Sorry for my bad English

            Hmn, thats weird. Here are a few things for you:

            1) I assume you have tried restarting your computer a few times and let the machine have time to start up properly and get "fast" before starting Winamp etc (if you know what I mean)? And maybe starting Winamp twice to be sure, as it may use more resources/take more time to start up the first time? For me the Spectrum Analyzer etc might become slightly slower after playing heavy games etc for an extended period of time.

            2) What skin are you using? As I said earlier, for me it feels slower in Bento (and especially Big Bento) than in other skins..

            3) Are you using other features within Winamp which can take a lot of resources and make the Spectrum Analyzer slow? Ie. notifier, fade in/out effects etc etc? And are you using other programs etc on your computer which may slow down Winamp or something?

            When thats said I think I saw DrO/DJ Egg or someone posting that this is a known issue on some system or something (dunno), but they dont know the cause or fix or whatever (dunno). Am I right?

            • Not a bug but just a question.
              What exactly does this line in the release log of Winamp 5.571 mean? I don't notice any difference to the 5.57 version, when using the pmp_usb plugin...

              Improved: [pmp_usb] Option to set paths in saved playlists
              (i'd love to be able to change the paths in the playlist file, so i'm curious what this is!)

                  Oh now i see, it's only in the English version and not in the Dutch language pack yet. Sorry! But thanks for the answer.

                    I've launched Winamp 5.57 on different systems on PC as well as on notebook many times.

                    #2
                    It is in my signature - Winamp Modern. And - yes - on Bento skin SA is slow.

                    #3
                    Nothing special, everything is the same as it was.

                    For me Im sure that is "fault" of Winamp, not my equipment or OS.

                    I never had that kind of trouble with spectrum analyzer as long as Im using it. Only this new version.
                    Beat Vis looks really more live than ever but somehow it - I suppose - slows down spectrum analyzer. Those are only my suppositions.

                    • Any ideas how to make the Browser use cookies normally in Windows 7 again? I was using lyricsplugin.com in Bento's Browser tab and it won't use the colours I set for text and background. Opening the link in a regular IE8 window shows the correct colours, it only doesn't seem to work in Winamp.

                        Ahh, right...

                        Okay, I've added the English resources to pmp_usb.lng for the Dutch lang pack.

                        Open %ProgramFiles%\Winamp\Lang\Winamp-nl-nl.wlz in 7-Zip (latest 9.x beta recommended)

                        Drag+drop the attached pmp_usb.lng into it.

                        Note, this is for the Dutch lang pack ONLY.

                        You (or any other Dutch member) could even help me to translate it properly if you want...

                        I'd need to know the Dutch translation for the following 6 lines:

                        Playlist Writing Options
                        Changing how Winamp saves its playlists may improve compatability with other portable devices.
                        Slash at start of paths (default)
                        Dot at start of paths
                        No slash or dot at start
                        e.g. \\path\\to\\file.mp3

                        • Here's translation

                          Opties voor het schrijven van de playlist
                          Veranderen hoe Winamp zijn playlists opslaat, zou de compatibiliteit met andere draagbare apparaten kunnen verbeteren.
                          Slash aan begin van path (standaard)
                          Punt aan begin van path
                          Geen slash of punt aan begin
                          vb. \\path\\naar\\bestand.mp3

                            And here's the updated pmp_usb.lng for the Dutch lang pack

                            (same instructions as in my post above).

                            • All the links on the main download page of this site still point to 5.571, although the files seem to be present (just changing the 5571 to 5572 in the links, and also the links in this thread work for me).

                              Also, the Version History wiki page doesn't reflect 5.572.

                              (Moreover, the "Winamp Toolbar" page is still in old site design... but that's off-topic)

                              Maybe someone should update the website??!
