i'll be interested to try a 32 or 64 bit WACUP when it goes fully independent from winamp code, (ironic since DrO used to moan endlessly when people requested a 64bit winamp), and fully public, but until whatever he is doing is in fact free and clear of winamp and vetted to be safe for my files i really have no interest now. i am very pleased to see the info and backup tools updated to work with 5.9.1
i'm curious if anyone reading this has been able to replicate my lag/crash issue when clicking in the ML with large numbers of tracks loaded in the scratch playlist? the issue is more pronounced with a combo of more tracks / less powerful hardware. if so, plz respond in the 5.9.1 RC thread.

The original intent has completely changed. There is currently an incomplete 64 bit beta version that uses none of the Winamp v5.666 core code. The current 32 bit beta version has replaced the Winamp v5.666 code for everything except for modern skin support, it's equalizer and 2 official plug-ins (in_mp3 and gen_ff).
Even with all the independent code, many 3rd party skins and plug-ins developed for Winamp are still supported. Those with a true desire to support DrO's efforts may be added to the beta testing group.
It is true that the current public preview version was released in March 2021 and depends a lot more on the code from Winamp v5.666.

@NJK
You've simplified it too much...
WACUP will be an independent media player with feel and look like old Winamp. Yes, for now it is based on Winamp 5.666. But DrO is working hard to make it fully independent. It means fast, multi-option media player with built-in functional plugins and support for external plugins. That need time...
More info on WACUP homepage or Discrod server.

Hi Koopa,
The updated Winamp Info Tool works as great as every. It let me know about some features in Winamp v5.9.1.10027 that I had forgot to enable. There are a few officially shipped components that are not flagged.
The tool does work with WACUP with some minor issues. The app being referred to as Winamp everywhere instead of WACUP. Unknown names for some plug-ins (official and 3rd party) which you wont know without being told about them. The changed folder location for Milkdrop presets. And maybe 1 or 2 other things like that.

It does Support Wacup, even can identify offical Wacup components in the Report.
But it could get an Update I guess.

Thank you. I've successfully downloaded version 3.6.1. I have not used it yet, but will do so later today. Sorry I wasn't clear in my previous post where the block occurred.
Do you have any plans for doing a version that supports WACUP?

A short info, beginning with Winamp Info Tool 6.0.4, Windows XP/Vista isn't supported anymore. I cannot test against XP/Vista and add workarounds for not working Unicode chars etc.
The tool is meant as a report tool used on current operation systems. Next Version will require Windows 7+.

ml_bkmk.dll, ml_enqplay.dll, and ml_exporter are already marked as WACUP components in 6.0.3. Need to research about libsoxr.dll.
MarkRH:
I cannot reproduce your issue, independent of the total amount of skins also I haven't found anything wrong in the code.
I have fixed the missing 0 if no language files are present in statistics though.
Sill trying to resolve a Unicode garbage issue when parsing strings from winamp.ini, but this can take a while so another minor release has to wait a bit.
