Thx for the fast responses. Really appreciate, and apologies if I missed anything in my questions.

as for no.4, let's see if it happens to others, it's strange as lots of my singles got retagged with track numbers, which was wierd. only happened after new update.

I'll see if such happens again and i'll get back to you all.

thx for the work done on winamp, and I hope work can be done on winamp podcasts in future to spruce it all up.

most likely it's sending utf-8 and we're not expecting that for what seems to be being treated as a SHOUTcast steam (even though it's not a SHOUTcast server). that would explain the weirdness in characters.

Are there a couple of typos in this statement?

"The bug with destroying m4a files then editing the tags after clearing the playlist, but still playing the file, is FIXED not - perfect, thanks!"

            Should it say this instead?

"The bug with destroying m4a files when editing the tags after clearing the playlist, but still playing the file, is FIXED now - perfect, thanks!"

Re: "Winamp doesn't seem to remember the recently selected tree item in ML"

Are you using a lang pack? Does it also happen with English?
Are there any non-default plugins present?
Oh, thank you. Sorry, I was in a haste when typing this... I fixed it. You assumed the correct meaning, though.

Regarding the ML not remembering the view: I spent some more time investigating this.

            What happens is the following:
I am using classic skin only.

When selecting some playlist in the ML tree, then CLOSING the ML window and exiting Winamp, and then again starting Winamp and then OPENING the ML window again, "Bookmarks" will be selected.

When selecting some playlist in the ML tree, leaving the ML window OPEN when closing Winamp, and then again starting Winamp, it will come up with the ML windows STILL OPEN and STILL selected the correct playlist in the tree!!

I usually close the ML window when I don't need it, so this behaviour would be a bug/regression to me.

No 3rd party plugins, and it also happens with English language (tested both).

            ------------

I have another question: What is "nxlite.dll" for, which has been added to Winamps Program directory? I don't have installed Cloud Beta or anything new I hadn't checked in the installer in previous versions...

            Thanks & Best regards!

your closing the window matches with what the reported as causing the issue (as referenced in my earlier reply) so seems like it's consistent. will hopefully be fixed before the next build.

nxlite.dll is a common dll being used between some of the plug-ins. i strongly advise against doing anything with it, especially removing it otherwise your Winamp will not work correctly / at all.

Saw this randomly in the internal beta builds as well, when ml_cloud was introduced.
It selects the top view instead of the last used view. The language doesn't matter, but reproducing it is terrible.

the view selection issue is irrespective of the cloud support, it just coincided with the support appearing in internal builds.

In Modern Skin it's really hard to reproduce, but as DrO already mentioned, it is quite reproducable in Classic Skin when you close the whole ML before quitting Winamp, as I usually do (as mentioned before).

                      Refer to what DrO wrote:

I think that sounds good so I have hope in the next build.

aye, was easier to replicate with a classic skin as the library window isn't getting messed around. have committed a fix for the next build, so hopefully this new issue (which was my fault in the first place from trying to fix something else with the selection restore) should be gone.

of the 'issues' in the two screenshots, the current 'song' coming through from them isn't always valid utf-8 (or at least isn't viewed as valid utf-8 as far as the OS api's are concerned) from what i can tell which is why it's failing to be displayed as you'd expect. i may look into it further but for the time being there's little else to be done about it.

with the station name on the stream info dialog, i've made a change which should allow it to appear like in the other parts of the ui, so i believe that can be called fixed.

                              A few things.

                              1) When subscriptions are updated, the subject in the Podcast column should be highlighted or bolded as for those of us with lots of subs, we can't tell which are updated without clicking through them all

                              2) It's a bit annoying to have to jump between the Subscriptions & Download folders for seeing what's downloaded or not, and startign them. It would be good if the two could be merged in some ways to make it easier.

                              3) when downloading, you have to jump to the download folder also which is a bit annoying to see the progress level.

                              4) In the download window, can you add a field for size of file & "Time", that way can check that the full podcast really has fully downloaded. sometimes it hasn't yet says completed.

                              5) I'd like to select a few subscriptions at one time (CTRL select) and do an update on them rather than one at a time or do all at one time (I've got around 15 subs, and I others with many many more). It can take a while.

                              6) After downloading, all sub downloads should be tagged as 'Podcasts' in Genre field. This makes easier to find in the filters I set up for organising my media. If there's a problem the podcast tag is lost and so only if the Genre field is manually amended will it still be marked as podcast.

That's what I can think of off the top of my head.

I love Winamp and I just want to see it kept in front of all others (it's far superior to iTunes).

Also one more thing. I use the History add in so as to remember for podcasts to restart where last left off, however I don't need see the entry in my media library column. Just surplus. Like to be able to hide it and it doesn't store any of my history.

i actually never said the dll was to blame, but thats neither here nor there. i guess i'm confused as to whats supposed to happen here? a beta is released for us to test and its big new feature is the cloud but we aren't supposed to be able to use it? and what is the "it" that was fixed internally?

i just want to help, thats why i'm letting you guys know this thing was crashing my winamp. the salient point to me, is that when i had existing ML Cloud language in the ml_gen.ini file, that seemingly instigated whatever causes the crash, be it the dll or the remote server, or whatever, when winamp is started. if that was deleted, then winamp started, np.

also, it probably is just coincidence as you said, but the "last view" info is also in gen_ml.ini with the ml cloud stuff.

it might be an idea to make the cloud stuff such that if it doesn't work, it merely crashes itself, and not the whole of winamp, and perhaps to delay it starting until after winamp fully loads. i guess i am suggesting it be a separate process? (excuse my ignorance if this is a dopey req, as i have no dev bonafides)

Hmm, nah. That's more of a power user thing. We'd much prefer if people continued using the winamp.com one ;-)
are you serious? why? its the first step to allowing users to define their own ratings from one another.
