You can't blame people getting just a lil frustrated after waiting 1.5 yrs Just a few official updates on where we are at would be very nice, but I am probably asking too much of course. Yep my version works fine but I would like some confidence that Winamp will be continuing and moving forward. Even if I heard something along those lines from someone up the top that would be enough to shut me up and wait even longer. It's the silence that is killing us all. Maybe they just want us to go away? Who knows. Great Marketing Dept in any case...lol
I know - I have to keep reminding myself that I have better things to do than check for latest versions of my software. Hopefully it will be released this year like they said.
We must remember that art is art. Still, on the other hand, water is water, isn't it? And east is east, and west is west. And if you take cranberries, and stew them like applesauce, it tastes much more like prunes then rhubarb does. Now you tell me what you know. Google+
most of the issues raised in the last few posts are all due to having a skinned ui and not conforming to the OS UI design. dropping skinning would make it so much more simpler for whoever is maintaining Winamp to leverage the OS support for all of the things which then makes docking, aero snap, scaling, etc a lot lot simpler to do (often with the OS automatically doing it) and just make Winamp more consistent with the Windows theme.
well considering windows theme/ux has gone to shit since win8 anyway
really don't see why that would be an issue.. i'm all for seeing multiplatform amp ..the transition to linux desktop would require one less piece of software to go looking for.. at least if its any good.
My signature was just too damn good to be seen here..

there was xmms, but I would think OSX would be the next desktop target after Windows for winamp, depending how well winamp will do now
Current Setup: Windows 10 Pro, Sound Blaster Z, Logitech Z-5500, Winamp v5.666.3516
What would it be called? Macamp, iAmp, or just Winamp for Mac?
I have a feeling iAmp would be the most likely. I hate how Apple puts the "i" in front of everything - I just reminds you that they're watching you.

How do test the beta version of...the one they are developing right now?
Or the last released? I don't quite follow you.

it would be called "Winamp for Mac" as that's what was the name of the actually released software and the fact people aren't referring to it shows it didn't fare very well at all. so desoite all those calls for a Mac version and basically no one used it when it was provided...
to be fair, the mac version was beta, stripped to the bone, and didn't work well, and came out well after all those calls were made, so by then iTunes had more than caught up.
in other words, there was not, as yet, a reason to use that beta instead of iTunes.
