        • Radionomy's ceo did say he wanted to branch out to new platforms, so who knows. BTW I noticed that the iPhone 4 was very low fidelity when compared to my lg risio (cheap) which makes 128kbs vbr m4a's sound like junk(when on the iPhone sounded closer to 256kbps mp3's). Also, why would ios need Winamp? The music player plays every the format the phone can handle, for it to play anything else it would have to be jailbroken. So I doubt it, though there's already a radionomy and shout cast app + (the god awful) tunein app.

Making a super dope user image for Windows 10 in Photoshop or Illustrator? Make it 448x448 to minimize artifacting from compression.

I never really respected Apple's hardware when it comes to sound, they seemed to always cheap out on them. My ipod classic (120GB) for example seems to suffer around the mids.

But still regardless, it would be nice to see Winamp penetrate more markets and get it's name known (or remembered)

            • The Ultimate Media Library Plugin

Blackhalo recommends this plugin. It looks like a very useful one.

              Ultimate ML Plugin:
Legacy resources, downloads for Winamp. Check out the heritage of Winamp, the greatest media player on WinampHeritage.com

              BUT
Norton checks it, flags it as unsafe and deletes it.

I had wanted to check out this add on.

However, using Windows shares it is quite easy to navigate to networked USB drives and NAS drives and play both files and folders.

So, it is not worth downloading and installing it if it poses a risk.

                • Thank you Winamp

I want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone involved in keeping Winamp alive, both past and present. As a wedding DJ, it is the ONLY media player I have ever trusted over the years with these very important occasions.

                  • The auto crossfade feature is invaluable to mobile DJs
                  • Responds instantly to commands i.e. double-click a playlist entry for instant playback
                  • The skins are clean, clear, uncluttered and colour changeable
                  • Allows multiple instances so I can run two separate players through 2 mixer channels, ideal for PLF
                  • The sound quality when combined with USB digital audio is second to none
                  • Never any distortion which is important when running through expensive professional speakers
                  • Can default to ‘enqueue when clicked’ to auto load songs from explorer into current playlist
                  • Has beautiful visualisations which can run on a second monitor/projector screen
                  • Full support for karaoke files on a separate monitor
                  • Is so damn robust and reliable (until Windows 10 came out, that is) that I will quit DJing if I can’t use it

Also a big shout out to @DJ Egg whose support posts have saved me many times over the years, thank you for your professionalism. If and when a new pro version comes out, I will be first in line to purchase it.

Thanks guys, sorry for the ramble but Winamp is the heart and soul of my DJ work

                  • Fully agree and great to see another member who DJ's exclusively with Winamp.
It's bulletproof and a breeze to use.
Been using it for about 15 yrs.
I'd be curious as to how many people out there Do DJ with Winamp
                    Cheers, Pete

                    • Winamp - Easily the best PC music player

BIG thanks from me as well!

Despite changing through the various windows systems upgrades, Winamp has remained on my desktop since +- 1999.

Why? Every other player I have tried, over the years, has something different missing that Winamp included by default. I also love how easy it is to use and how well the features work.

                      My wishlist would be:

                      1) live physical view of your music media to open/play files.
                      2) media library keeps live track of the above and allows you to easily see what has been played or liked/Favorited with sort options based on those. I know the library does this to some point but it could be improved I think.

Thanks guys! seriously looking forward to the new Winamp :>

                      • I made an account just to say:

From the bottom of my heart "I love you, Winamp!"

I've been using Winamp since the first day i bought a computer, back in 2002. I went through several PCs and various OS's since then but Winamp was the only software which was installed as default on each one of 'em.

I would echo your thanks to the Winamp Devs. I have been using Winamp for more than a decade now and Winamp has been a faithful companion to me too. We do not thank the people enough for the things we have. Well, thank you Winamp Dev Team @DJEgg @Dr0

                            • Props to Microsoft for conforming to Winamp style context menus with Windows 10 version 1511.
I'd sue Microsoft for being copycats if I were Radionomy

And Holiday season is coming. Any chance of a public (pre)release? Please?

                              • Adware?

I get an Avast alert on both the MacUpdate and the 'direct' dmg downloads.

Apparently there is adware on the Mac Winamp version - 'MacInst.D adware'? Given MacInst.A is a trojan, that's alarming.

I think I'll avoid for now.
