Important read first before installing new version of winamp

1. This is the 5.9 finished version.

2. Back up your playlists.

3. Do not install over existing older versions with many plugins. It might give issues with some plugins. (see #4)

4. After installing introduce plugins one by one so you can determine where a problem actually appeared. It was said very clearly that most 3rd party plugins wouldn’t work in RC1. Many were finally able to be installed in RC3. Always use caution when installing test versions of software.

Some of you could have avoided a lot of the issues you are experiencing. Unless there’s a specific issue with locale & language, there likely isn’t a problem with unicode. Instead of posting so many replies, give DJ Egg a chance to process and work with the developers. They’ve resolved a good many issues so far.

i don't see a problem installing over top of existing editions, and if there is one it should be stated. also, people can use koopas backup tool first.

It's probably not an issue now but it seemed to be a huge issue for many upgrading from 5.666 or 5.8 to the 5.9 RC series, especially the inclusion of plugins that blew the whole works.
