I have some problem with Lyrics plugins and Cpro skins, when lyrics wass activated, Winamp crash. So I see deleting this in winamp.ini in "AppData\Roaming\Winamp" help me with this problem.

hi Samantha, welcome.

i don't use those. 5.9.x is a big redesign, and some older plugins will work, but some won't or might be compromised in some way. best bet is to encourage their devs to get them working with 5.9.1

in the meantime, maybe one of the big brains here will know a clever way to get these working again.

i would suggest that a lossless transcode from ape and wavpack to ALAC m4a, will be a much more robust futureproof solution for you.

Still can't find APE plugin for 5.91 (((
And what suggestions on CUE-sheets? Or 5.91 already has built-in cue support?

BTW everything is working fine now! Just plugins were installed in the folder Plugins of the previous WinAMP 5.666 version, and 5.91 just was unable to run 'em despite of their properties were shown correctly! Thanks to everyone!

did u install 5.9.1 over top, or separately?

i would have assumed the install routine would automatically migrate from the old spot to the new proper folder... did u have to move them manually?

so can u please clarify? it sounded like you were saying you made edits to your m3u8 files AND your actual *.mp3 filenames to get it working again. is that correct or no? and if it is correct, what exactly did you do?

also, yes, we have the older playlists from the earlier post. what i hope you still have are actual mp3 files corresponding to those playlists (that u will upload), before any changes were made to them (if in fact, any changes were made to them) so that we all can try to reproduce your intermittent issue.

its great you got yourself sorted, but if in fact winamp itself does have some sort of bug or weakness or poor handling of this type, it won't be addressed at all by your posts UNLESS we can reproduce the issue / figure out what is causing it / learn from you what exactly you did to make it better or even fix it?



yes, i am well aware of that and said so. what i was also saying is that there are other characters that look similar that can work, like e.g. a thin or upside down question-mark.

Thanks for the new release and great job! Seems to have resolved show-stopper issues that I had with 5.9.0.

I thought it's "over top", but by the fact it was "separately", cuz really it was accidentally installed into subfolder of the old installation, and all settings of the old one were migrated to the new one, but they were not working and began to work after re-installing only . So now Ihave working both, 5.666 and 5.91

@Samantha maybe you should uninstall both, delete %appdata%\winamp and start with a clean installation.

the questions remain as to why you see the issue and we don't. i suspect there might be something to your suggestion of needing the mp3s. so far, u haven't provided them.

and what is even weirder, is that one file might not be loaded one time, but it will the next, like I mentioned previously (and I will repeat now):
I created a playlist, added a folder. result: one file not loaded properly.
Emptied the playlist, added the same folder again and this time, the file was read correctly.

only a few files are needed and there are tons of sites and apps [4shared, dropbox, etc] that allow u to do so.

and for christs sake no one is saying there is anything wrong with the files themselves, BUT AS YOU YOURSELF SAID EARLIER, reproduction of your issue is prob far less likely without them. using your exact files eliminates a possible variable even if it may not be a factor.
