Album Artist Column

Really enjoying the beta, prefer it to iTunes/VOX etc. I could not find this issue addressed elsewhere in the MAC section of the forum. My one issue with the functionality of the beta at this point is the inability to sort by Album Artist.

I prefer to search via artist but have recently imported a fair few compilations and really need a way to filter by album artist as my artist filter is now far too messy to function.

I've searched all threads of the dedicated MAC section of the forum and haven't found a solution as yet, so if anyone knows a way to filter by Album Artist in the current beta or if this issue will be addressed in coming betas any response would be greatly appreciated.

Could you swap your usage of Album Artist and Artist Alias over? That's the only thing I can think of that would resolve this but it's probably way too much work to modify your existing collection.

An artist is a person engaged in an activity related to creating art, practicing the arts, or demonstrating an art. The common usage in both everyday speech and academic discourse is a practitioner in the visual arts only. The term is often used in the entertainment business, especially in a business context, for musicians and other performers (less often for actors). "Artiste" (the French for artist) is a variant used in English only in this context. Use of the term to describe writers, for example, is valid, but less common, and mostly restricted to contexts like criticism.
