Playback too fast

Winamp is playing all of my mp3's back about 8% too fast. This is just fast enough to annoy the crap out of anybody. If ANYONE has suggestions, they will be welcome.

get pacemaker and turn the speed down on it to -8%. That will fix it.

Um whats so messed up about it? You dont have to pay for it. Thats only DFX or SqrSft. Pacemaker is actually open source, so that would be stupid to charge for it.

I had the same problem with Win2K and WinMe incorrectly identifying the soundcard as AC97 on two Compaqs, one with Win2k and one with WinMe. Installed the correct drivers and instant fix.

Other users with similar problems may want to verify the proper drivers for their sound card as well.
