  • Too many requests. Try again tomorrow.

I'm having a problem playing any TUNE IN requests from ShOUTCAST.

Whenever I click on a TUNE IN, it says: Too many requests. Try again tomorrow.

However, from my laptop I am able to TUNE IN. The laptop is using the same external I.T.

    Does anyone have a clue?

You have been banned from the SHOUTcast yellow pages for 24 hours. Either you or someone in your net block has been hammering the YP directory lately. For abuse of the SHOUTcast directory the IP range was banned. If you have any program harvesting the YP listing to display the directory listings (like XBox media player) disable them. If you have no such programs go hunting down your neighbors for ruining it for you.

    Try again tomorrow.

(HINT: Bookmark the stations you listen to the most. Also upgrade to Winamp 2.91 or above (5.0) which has the SHOUTcast stream list built in).

      Interesting...

Well how does that explain the fact that my laptop on the same network using the same external IP is able to access the shoutcast streams. That means that my IP is not banned.

        lmao

IP banning isn't the ony way to ban someone. Ever used Paltalk before they ban you buy your nickname or they can ban you by your computer name or many other ways IP banning anyone can get around that if you got an ip that changes everytime you log off.

Classic, I just got this message aswell, and I haven't been on the YP for 2 weeks cos I have been away.

Any other way this message can be shown? Cos im sure I'm not seeing it because my IP had been banned.

            Regards

            Stef

P.S. No-one else used my PC or used the network in on whilst I was away.

Possibly related to the current SHOUTcast YP issue...

Sticky: SHOUTcast Winamp Radio/TV stopped working (YP server side issue)

BTW Please don't revive old threads, this one is over a year old. It is better to start a new thread instead of reviving an old one. The posting dates can be found under the forum name, next to the Profile button.

I've been unable to connect to Shoucast stations since yesterday. It doesn't seem related to the browser - I get the same response in Firefox or IE (To many requests. Try again tomorrow).

BTW - Casting my vote for the return of the client side "search as you type" feature.

Is there a way to bookmark streams by their real address (as opposed to the reference through the shoutcast site)? At least my locl bookmarks would work when the YP is down

You're not the only one, there's indeed some issues with the servers at the moment.

If you bookmark a station from the playlist editor, the real address will be bookmarked.
If you're bored go here or, if the boredom is more serious, here.

I am having the same problem as of late for about the last week or so. I only click on like 3 links and then I get that message. Last time I got that message was some time ago and it occurred when I clicked on like 30 or so links, but never get the message. I usually am clicking on about 10 or so stations. I hope this gets fixed. From what I understand it is a problem on the server side of shoutcast.

Thanks for any further help on this topic.
