    You mean to make the .m3u playlist file itself dynamic? No. You can't substitute entries in an .m3u playlist with a path to *.mp3 or the like. The .m3u playlist file is nothing more than a text file that contains paths to the location of individual songs at a particular location, each individual song path located within its own line of text within the .m3u file.

    You can however create a plugin or even perhaps create a very simple batch file that whenever run, will parse all files within a folder to recreate the same-named .m3u file every time. That .m3u file would of course be dynamicly created each time, overwriting itself. So, any media files (audio or video) that you may either newly add or take away from the folder will be accounted for each time the .m3u file is recreated, and in effect you would have an ever-changing playlist file.

    But why do you want to do this? Isn't it easy enough to just right-click > Play > Folder ??

      Create a Winamp shortcut with the folder/directory in the Target or Command Line
      Example...
      "C:\Program Files\Winamp\winamp.exe"space"C:\My Documents\My Media Files"

      Include the quotes. Be careful not to have shortcuts or playlists within that folder/directory.

        thank you for your answers.
        i want this because i use a very personal way of using the mini browser : album covers thread
        for this, i created thumbnails of my general folders (like a "rock misc folder") which will always be changed because of the incoming new misc rock mp3s. So i wanted to keep the ability to play it with the thumbnail image, which is linked to a m3u, while having the folder up to date.

        i see, it wont work, no problem. maybe i do my own batch or just dont mind that much about it.

        thank you all.

          I see why you want this now. Well, as I said, it can be done with a batch file. Have fun!

            In a bit of a rush... but here's some quick options:

            1. Notepad
            Top line, type: c:\music
            File menu -> save as
            Change to "all files" instead of "text docs"
            Save as eg. music.m3u

            2. Media Library
            Local Media -> New View
            Query: filename BEGINS C:\Music

            (naturally, C:\Music needs to be in Media Importing list in Prefs)
