  • This hasn't been fixed!

    Hi!

I don't know when I requested this, but it was a VERY long time ago.

Anyhow to get to the point.

I have loads of plugins for winamp to play diffrent soundformats, and whenever I want to add a new song I have to go thru the annoying part of pressing List All Files before I can choose my "odd" music formats.

Can you add for next winamp version so ALL fileextensions that are marked in preferences in winamp are shown by default when you want to add/pick a new song.

Currently only: mods, mp3s, midis, wavs are shown by default.

    FIX THIS!

      Not a Winamp bug.

      From Winamp 2.90 whatsnew.txt:
      - made in_mod's massive ext list get listed last in the "all supported types" list (in case it goes beyond the windows 256 char limit)

      See here for further info:

Did you find a bug in Winamp? Can you reproduce it? Let us know, we'll try to fix it as soon as possible!

If it's not that, then one of your 3rd-party input plugins is to blame and you should report it to the plugin author.

is it not possible to just let one add ALL the formats u've marked in winamp in preferences to show up in All Supported Types ? I think it's quite easy

Actually now that I check I see that I cannot see ALOT of files, therefor I'll name the files I cannot see:
.xm, .sid, .ogg, .s3m, .vtx, .it, .sc68, .miniusf, .ym, .thx, .tfx, .spc, .mod, .wma

        Files I however can see:
.gsf, .minipsf, .flac, .gym, .gsf, .mp4, .mp3, .mid, .nsf, .nfse, .mdx, .kss

Plugins I use, which don't seem to show files:

        in_mod.dll (Nullsoft Module Decoder v2.2.11 (x86))
        in_sc68.dll (sashipa Atari-ST & Amiga music player (v2.2.1)(x86))
        in_sid.dll (SidAmp v1.4 Beta (x86))
        in_snes.dll (Alpha-II SPC Player v3.2 (x86))
        IN_TFMX.dll (TFMXPlay Plugin release 7 (x86))
        in_thx.dll (Abyss WinTHX v1.0 (x86))
        in_usf.dll (64th Note v0.08 (x86))
        in_vorbis.dll (Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder v1.35)
        in_vtx.dll (V_Soft Vortex AY/YM Emulator v4.0 beta (x86))
        in_wm.dll (Nullsoft WMA plug-in v2.04(x86))
        in_ym.dll (Leonard StSound Engine v1.0(x86))

someone please tell me if something is wrong. I use LATEST Winamp version. It has been like this ever since 2x. I can't see some formats in "All Supported Files" when I want to change songs.. I have to click show all files.. very annoying.

I've moved this from Bug Reports to Tech Support
Alas, issues potentially caused by 3rd-party plugins do not class as Winamp bugs.

Remove all 3rd-party plugins, leaving only the default input plugins:

          in_mp3
          in_mp4
          in_vorbis
          in_wm
          in_wave
          in_mod
          in_cdda
          in_midi
          in_dshow
          in_nsv

Confirm whether or not your problem still exists or not

Apply the tweaks referenced in the above links, eg. here (bold text).

          1. Close Winamp,
          2. Add one of the 3rd-party input dll files back in the Winamp\Plugins folder,
          3. Reopen Winamp
          4. See if your problem persists or not.
          5. Repeat 1-4 for all 3rd-party input plugins until the problem resurfaces.

If it does resurface, then the last input plugin you re-enabled is to blame, and you should report it to the plugin author.

Though, as already stated, it could just be that you've installed too many input plugins and you've exceeded the Windows' Open Files Dialog 256-character extension limitation.

"is it not possible to just let one add ALL the formats u've marked in winamp in preferences to show up in All Supported Types?"

All supported Types means all types that Winamp can play, according to the installed input plugins. Adding an option to open "all associated types" is a feature request, and should be posted in the wishlist, if anywhere.
