Chances are that you are using waveOut instead of DirectSound output in Winamp. DirectSound does not use your system wave table. So, if you switch your output to DirectSound, you should also be able to hear all system sounds while Winamp is playing...Originally posted by Mobius1

CTRL+P for Winamp preferences > Plug-ins > Output > DirectSound output [out_ds.dll]
