Everyone:
A number of MSVCRT.DLL errors have been occurring amongst users on the forums lately. This is a reminder to search the forums.
A forums search on "msvcrt.dll" yields the following search. That search has been restricted to the Winamp Forum section to reduce extraneous results, click here for a full forum search.
DO NOT POST HERE UNLESS SPECIFICALLY DIRECTED TO BY A MODERATOR OR OTHER FORUMS MEMBER!
A few pointers:
Make sure you are running the most current version of Winamp. Follow the full uninstall > reinstall (AKA clean install) of Winamp instructions, exactly as written.
Try unchecking Sonic Burning/Ripping Support in the Winamp installer. If you intend to use these functions, you will need wnaspi32 instead.
Make sure that you aren't running third-party modern skins/plug-ins. They aren't supported in conjunction with Winamp or the forums. If you must use third-party modern skins, remove the skins to another directory and replace them in the \skins\ directory one-by-one until you can reproduce the crash. If you must use third-party plugins, please save us the trouble of addressing your problems unless you have first renamed them yourself (to *.dll.off or similar) to see which plugin was faulty.
Refer to the solutions and concerns posed in the threads from the forum search. They work a good deal of the time.
However, if you cannot seem to fix your problem with the above methods, make sure you have the following things ready before you post. If you do not have these things, YOU WILL BE IGNORED!
A CLEAR AND CONCISE DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM AND HOW IT AROSE (error messages, etc)

ONE FOR NUNZ PLUGIN LIST
Instructions for use: Open Winamp. Go into Preferences > Plug-ins > General Purpose > One for Nunz. Click Configure and select 'Generate text file of all installed plugins.' You may also want to click 'Open text file once generated.' This will may tracking the location of this file easier (although it is located where ever you have installed One for Nunz, default is C:\Program Files\Winamp\plugins, or your plugins directory). The default name of the file is my_plugin_list.txt.
You may need to ZIP all files in order to post them as a single attachment. Make sure they are clearly identifiable.
Again, SEARCH THE FORUMS. Be patient, as other forums members like yourselves are volunteers. We don't help you because we have to. We do it because we want to. Thanks! jmatthews112
**TO ALL MODS: Feel free to LOCK/TEMPORARILY STICKY this topic to ensure no new posts are created here, unless you see that a central location to report such errors is necessary. Also feel free to modify or correct any of the above information, not failing to give me proper credit for the original contents of the thread. Thanks, jmatthews112**
