preferences doesn't appear

Hi,
i'm using the latest version ao Winamp on XP (but the problem exists some month now) and the problem is, that nothing happens, when i press CTRL-P or select Preferences in the popUp menu.
No error message, nothing. Maybe the window opens somewhere outside the visible area or it is invisible ... do you have any idea what i can do? I tried a complete reinstall but this did not help.

I have a Matrox G550 and i am using Quickdesk - after disabling 'open pop-ups and dialogs in the application's display' everything is here :-))
