Is it possible to move folders but retain library information?

I currently have my MP3s sorted:

A to M
N to Z

However, I'd like to break them into halves again as these folders are too large. I'd like to do like A-G, H-M, N-S, T-Z.

Is it possible to migrate the appropriate files that are in A-M to A-G and H-M without losing all of the "library file information"?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hmm, have you tried the "Rescan now" button in preferences -> Media Library -> Watch folders ?

I did a few tests, can't seem to get anything to work..
