so i got the most recenter winamp and all my songs are crackling and really jumpy and its quality went down. is there something i did. that made this do this?:

I don't know if it anything you did. My ESP has been on the blink lately. Anyways...Close & restart Winamp after the DirectSound tweaks. Although not necessary, you may want to close Winamp, Windows and restart the computer. Some user have found changes don't fully take effect until a reboot.From the Common Issues section of the Troubleshooters Sticky
No sound, skippy/choppy/crackly playback, high VM usage, etc.

You may also want to update the sound drivers. Sudden playback issues or changes in playback, can be attributed outdated or corrupted sound drivers. If you have a soundcard go the manufacturer's website for updates. If you have an on board sound chip, go to the website of your computer provider or the manufacturer of the motherboard.

so i just realized thats its not winamp. its eitehr my video card or speakers. it works when i restart then it randomly cracks when i play music and gets all skippy. could it be that theres a high cpu consumption?Comment
