  • crackly and skippy

    so i got the most recenter winamp and all my songs are crackling and really jumpy and its quality went down. is there something i did. that made this do this?:

    I don't know if it anything you did. My ESP has been on the blink lately. Anyways...

    No sound, skippy/choppy/crackly playback, high VM usage, etc.

    Close & restart Winamp after the DirectSound tweaks. Although not necessary, you may want to close Winamp, Windows and restart the computer. Some user have found changes don't fully take effect until a reboot.

    You may also want to update the sound drivers. Sudden playback issues or changes in playback, can be attributed outdated or corrupted sound drivers. If you have a soundcard go the manufacturer's website for updates. If you have an on board sound chip, go to the website of your computer provider or the manufacturer of the motherboard.

      so i just realized thats its not winamp. its eitehr my video card or speakers. it works when i restart then it randomly cracks when i play music and gets all skippy. could it be that theres a high cpu consumption?
