I found the problem-a conflict- which has been bugging me

I found the problem which was making some of my files play with noise:

I have HigCriteria.com's Total Recorder for recording mp3's from web streams. The driver can be turned on all of the time, which creates the problem, or turned off when not recording.

HighCriteria.com says to switch to waveOut output plug-in

When I advised HighCriteria.com of the conflict between Total Recorder and Winamp, they tol me to switch to the waveOut plugin.

But, I do not know anything about the two plug-ins, Is one better than the other? Or appropriate for different music?

Winamp plays fine as long as the Total Recorder driver is "off".

PLease advise.
