  • When Right Click -> Missing Winamp Commands

    Hello,

All my Winamp commands have disappeared when I right click my music/video files. The only commands are to play/enque in Windows Media Player.

Can someone explain or provide a link to fix this problem?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Winamp but this does not fix the problem.

    Thanks!

    Winamp > Ctrl+P > General Preferences > File Types
    Are file types associated?
Is 'Show Winamp in folder context menu in Windows Explorer' checkmarked?

Winamp > Ctrl+P > General Preferences > Jump to File > Shell Options tab
Under 'Windows Explorer Menu Control' make sure the items you want in the context menus are highlighted.

Thanks for the response JM, but the Winamp commands still do not show up when I right click. Do you have any other ideas to fix this?

I can not find any "red flags" that would explain the issue. Anyone else?

Maybe there is some funkiness with the separate/per-user setting.

Do you have any third party Winamp plug-ins?
Please do not PM me for tech support. Any request for tech support through PM will be ignored.

I tried on both types of user settings but it does not fix the problem.

I do not use any 3rd party plug-ins.

Here's a picture of my command window when I right click an mp3 file:

Could I edit the registry to add the Winamp commands back in? Would you know how to do this?

I can't spend any time debugging for you this moment (need to get to sleep)

But this thread should provide you with some reference information you can use to remove/add context menu items.

                      Thanks for the response.

                      Here's going to Tools->Folder Options->Filetypes->MP3s:
                      h**p://img338.imageshack.us/img338/3379/winampprob2bo4.jpg

Enque is listed along w/ the other commands for Winamp that should show up when right clicking a Winamp file.

                      However..

                      Here's what ShellExView displays:
                      h**p://img372.imageshack.us/img372/5423/winampprob3pj2.jpg

                      Winamp isn't even listed.

                      Do you know why?

I don't think Winamp should be listed. I know it isn't for me in ShellExView. I don't think Winamp creates it's context menu items the same way as Media Player,
and it was for Media Player that I originally provided the link to ShellExView.

This was specifically for MP3s but it also applies to OGG and WMA files as well.

Hmmm. What about your icons? Are your Winamp files showing the right icon
... either the one selected from within Winamp preferences?
... or the one selected from within the Edit File Type window?
