Auto-Tag updating database

I would suspect that they have become damaged in some way. They could be on a corrupt file system, a virus could have taken it's toll on them, they were truncated in an erroneous copy/move operation.

MP3 files cannot be limited by DRM in the files themselves. They have no support for that and they shouldn't be called mp3 files if a standard compliant decoder cannot play them.

Well I think the new auto tag feature is the nuts! I can have it populate all of the fields on the ID tags without having to manually enter the info. My wife has some music files that she cannot use anymore. None of the commonly available players will play them anymore. She claims something disabled them although I really don't think it was Winamp. She was getting some files somewhere with a service for an MP3 player that she has and I think those files are the ones that are disabled. They were probably just "limited" freebies. I have files onj my PC that I ripped from some of my CD's that don't have the complete tag on them. When I use auto-tag it populates more of the tags' fields. I just want to make sure there isn't "time out" implanted with the new tag and the files become unplayable at a time in the future.

What do you mean by inoperable? Winamp uses the tags defined in various standards. Unless programs stop using these standards the tags should continue to be readable.

I have another question related to the auto-tag function. Until just now I used to enter this data manually. No with auto-tag it populates it automatically! This is awesome but will this in anyway change the meta data tag so that my file becomes inoperable at some point in time in the future?

I can't believe that it would since that would render a lot of folks personal stuff unusable but it can't hurt to ask.

1. Not at the moment. The Auto-Tag feature changes the file tags and then updates the ML if the file is in the database.
2. You can't delete anything but tracks from the ML. You will have to delete all the tracks from a given artist.
3. I have no idea nor do I care for such a feature.

Hey there,

1st question:
I don't want my original mp3 files to be altered, not even the tags, luckely winamp uses a database to store that information. Is it possible to user the auto-tag option and have it stored in that same database? Becuase now I have to do everything manually, and it's a pain in the ***

2nd question:
And how can I delete an artist from the library without having to click on the album then selecting all the songs, just delete the artist... ?

3rd question:
Final question... when will there be native *.cue file support? I'm using Cue Player 0.57c but it's not as accurate as it should be, the songs start a few seconds too early (foobar2000 does this perfectly btw, but they don't use a database to store tags if the files are read-only).
