  • Winamp will not recognize iPod Touch

Ive been trying now for ages to get Winamp to recognize my iPod, but every time i plug it in, iTunes comes up and Winamp shows nothing under Portables, it shows up in explorer as well. Im using 5.581.

Any help will be much appreciated!

We only support iPod Classic, Mini, Shuffle (all models), and Nano up to 4g
    http://www.winamp.com/help/FAQ#Plug-ins (last Q in section)

There is no native support for newer Nano models or Touch/iPhone.

We were in the process of implementing support a year or so ago
and then Apple released a firmware upgrade which broke it all again.
Alas, this is the price you/we pay for using proprietary formats/devices.

You might be able to get the ml_ipod plugin to work for Nano 5/6g, Touch & iPhone models

Though note that ml_ipod & iTunes are incompatible....

    ps. Android is the future!

ml_ipod doesn't support any of the newer devices from the last year or so from what i remember and isn't developed as of april this year so i don't think that's suitable either now.
