  • Podcast Sync Greyed out for Android Phone

Just did a clean install of 5.6 (never installed on this machine before) to try out the wifi sync with my Android phone. I can sync files over wifi using the 'send to' menu. Syncing playlists works fine as well. The issue is syncing podcasts automatically. In the 'Podcast Sync' menu for the device the 'Sync' radio button is greyed out. Obviously there are several workarounds for this but I thought I would bring it up in case anyone knows what's going on.

-List of Plugins: Stock 5.6 plugins, no additional plugins installed.
    -Mobo: Asus P6X58D Premium
    -CPU & RAM: Intel i7-950 | 6Gb OCZ DDR3 1600Mhz
    -Sound: Realtek HD Audio 6.0.1.5973
    -Videocard: Sapphire Radeon 6850
    -Windows OS: Win7 Ultimate 64b
    -DirectX 11
    -Winamp version: 5.6
    -Winamp installation type: Full
-Android Device: HTC Evo 4G (rooted)

    Hmm, strange....

Please attach a List of Plugins log.

The whole tab is kind of greyed-out for me, but becomes un-greyed (is that even a proper word, lol) when I checkmark "Sync".

It might be greyed-out under the following circumstances:

    1. ml_wire.dll (default Podcast support plugin) is missing - though I'd expect the Podcast Sync tab not to be even visible, if that was the case.

    2. You've not subscribed to any podcasts via: Media Library -> Podcast Directory -> Subscriptions

    3. Unknown cause

List of plugins attached. ml_wire is listed.

I have two podcast subscriptions. One easy workaround is to use ispodcast = "1" in the library sync query. I uninstalled, wiped prefs and cleaned registry, reinstalled and still have the issue.

        The plot thickens....

And the Sync checkbox definitely can't be checkmarked?

        DrO? Benski? Anyone?

Actually, I've a feeling that Podcast Sync isn't actually possible via WiFi, at the moment,
and is only do-able via mounted USB sync....

I have exactly the same problem!

My podcast sync checkbox is also inactive (light grey). I have a HTC Desire. Al other sync functions work just fine. BTW nice product! hope to use it a lot, when a solution for the podcast sync is fixed.

Can you confirm that it works (isn't greyed-out) in USB mode?
              (ie. confirm that it's a Wifi-only issue)

              [EDIT]

Yeah, confirmed... Podcast Sync is USB mode only, not Wifi. Sorry.
Wifi support is pretty new and will be improved over the coming releases
(Podcast Sync, Sync Dir, Naming Convention, Album Art, etc).

                    Hi

I seem to get this problem now as well, as per the above picture, it's the same on the "Sync" & "Podcast Sync" tabs.

wrt Plugins, the only 3rd party plug ins are Dynamic library & UML 1.20.

                    Why is this happening?

                    Windows 7
                    Winamp 5.6
                    HTC Desire phone
                    32GB chip
USB Cable (I always use the cable)
                    attached my list of plugins.

joebloggscity: revert to the en-us language pack (should be what's causing it to fail for you). i've not had the chance to update the en-gb language pack for 5.6 and there appears to be an issue in ml_pmp (where the dialogs are provided) for those two dialogs.

                      [edit]
pm sent with test build to see how it works with the en-gb still running

                        DrO

there is a problem with that new DLL you sent me, for some reason when i remove the old DLL and then replace it with the new one "Portables" disappears from under plug ins...

When i put the old one back in, it returns.

                        edit:
you were right, by removing the en-GB language pack, the options returned!

hmm that's weird as the change made in the test version doesn't have anything to do with that part of handling (and shouldn't be preventing it from loading). will have to update the en-gb langpack either way but still strange it prevents the other plug-ins loading.

oh well its fixed it to work on my end with the en-gb so might be something with my build (as i also re-built all of the pmp plug-ins as my local versions were about a week older than the public versions).

Same issue here, I'm on a stock HTC Evo (updated with the HTC official Froyo) and basic WinAmp, no plugins because it's a fresh clean install and I'm new to WinAmp.
