Video Art Thumbnail

I have a bunch of .wmv video files loaded into winamp and the video thumbnail is missing and only shows the default lama. They show up in WMP and iTunes fine. Also some are missing the "artist" but again the artist shows up fine in WMP and iTunes. I've searched for an answer for this everywhere and cannot find one. Does anyone know how to get the art or video thumbnail to show in Winamp?

WMV-video-files can be tagged (but not AVI, FLV, MP4 etc.). If You have pasted the JPG/JPEG-pictures with the exact album-names into the same folders like the WMV-video-files, then You can load the video-files into the Playlist Editor or You can look into the Media Library under Video. For each WMV-video You can right-click, then go to "View File Info", then write the exact album-name to the video (You can also add the other tags). The tags will be written into the video-files (also very good, if You copy the video-files to another computer). Then You should see the album-art, if You play a tagged video. It works for me, and I have many WMV-files (I have created my music-videos for YouTube always as WMV).
I download the album art always directly on the websites (from Amazon or Discogs) and paste them into the right folders before tagging my files, although Winamp should also get the album art from Amazon.

Thanks for the reply Sabine. I didn't realize they could be tagged like MP3s. However, I'm still wondering why I would have to tag them. When I load them into WMP or iTunes both of the those programs display a thumbnail image of all my videos...along with a title and everything. Winamp doesn't do this. Also, not all my videos are professional music videos and therefore there is no art to grab from a source such as Amazon. Is there a reason Winamp will not show the video thumbnails?

Winamp does not show the video-thumbnail of the WMV-video. But I have opened the Windows Media-Player and I have checked some WMV-videos there. Windows Media Player shows the video-thumbnail, You are right. But I hope, it doesn't matter for You now, that Winamp shows the album art or the default lama in the "Big Component View" instead of the video-thumbnail.
And yes, it is impossible to grab the album art from Amazon with Winamp for "not professional music". I have also some MP3-files from friends with "not professional music", and the most of them have no album. So I paste an 1:1-JPG/JPEG-picture with the exact file-name "cover" into the right folder. Sometimes at first I have to cut a JPG/JPEG-picture to the format 1:1 and I have to save it under a new file-name, "cover" or the exact album-name, and I paste it into the right folder. For me each track / video needs a JPG/JPEG-picture, and each folder has also a JPG/JPEG-picture with the exact file-name "cover" together with the other JPG/JPEG-pictures, if all the tracks of a folder have an album or not.
PS, I myself belong to the "Unknown Artists", but "Unknown Artists" make very often the best music...
