Updated standalone Last.fm plugin for Windows 7?

When I had Windows XP, I used the old-style version of the Last.fm plugin with Winamp which is listed here: http://www.last.fm/forum/34905/_/135053 However, I just got Windows 7 64-bit and the latest version of Winamp and this plugin doesn't work. It prevents Winamp from opening. Is there an updated version of this anywhere that will work? I don't want to have to use Last.fm's separate scrobbling client.

Nevermind. The latest version of Winamp doesn't work with it. I went to oldversion.com and downloaded Winamp 5.51. Works fine now.

using an old version of Winamp just masks the issue and now leaves you with a vulnerable Winamp and also a vulnerable scrobbler plug-in. i had planned to finish updating the plug-in to work with newer Winamp installs but some other users have made me decide against doing that for any foreseeable time to come (especially when i've not used the service properly in years). but each to their own if you think using unsupported versions for music stats is more important.

Not sure what is vulnerable about it. I do try to block Winamp behind a firewall so it can't connect to the internet without asking me, but obviously the Last.fm plugin is running at all times. To be honest, I only got the latest version of Winamp because I got a new computer. Normally, I go by "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" and keep versions I have of everything unless someone seems wrong and I bet I had a really old version of Winamp on my old computer. Shrug. Your old posts helped me realize rolling back to v5.51 would fix the plugin though, so thanks for that.

if you are going to use an old version, 5.581 was the last one which i believe worked (as 5.59 beta/5.6 had to change how dlls are loaded which then caused the plug-in to fail - as part of a number of security vuln fixes which other programs also applied when they load plug-ins).
