Not functioning in 64-bit Win7

I have a custom built HTPC running 64-bit Windows 7. Every time that I install Winamp, the program that I get doesn't work. I have tried installing with and without all of the suggested plug-ins that are available during installation.

What happens is, when I click on an artist, it takes me to a different artist and puts that other artist in the "now playing". Then when I click within that artist, it takes me to another artist and play something else. None of the scroll bars work and half of the fields are unresponsive when you click within them.

The whole damn thing is going haywire.

I'm looking for either a suggestion on how to make this program work or a suggestion for another program for music playback (not loving WMC).

I have Winamp blasting out tunes on this Win7 x64 Ultimate PC. No troubles. Same on the laptop (Win7 x64 Pro on there)

Text is scaled to somewhere in the 150% range. It is an HTPC connected to a 55" flat-panel. I have the text scaled to make everything easier to view from every distance in the living room.

Bummer. Spotify handles it just fine. So does WMP. Pretty amazing that such a small thing would render the program completely useless. I guess off to find something that is capable of slightly larger text (sounds crazy).

it's due to the skin, if you're using the Bento skin (normal default) then it has that issue. you can try disabling the scaling on winamp.exe (via the right-click properties dialog) and restart Winamp. then you can instead use Winamp's own window scaling options as well as doing Ctrl and + or - in the main playlist editor to change the font used in the main UI elements.

I tried the Bento and Bento Large. I guess I'll see if I can disable scaling for one program. Never given that a try.

Well, got it to work, but everything is so tiny it is practically useless. Ctrl + does nothing. Can't find anything in the Winamp options that seems to be of any value to me, either.

if the keyboard action isn't working (it's the + on the number pad), then preferences -> playlist -> playlist font size in pixels is the part to change. then for the rest of the outer frame, main right-click and window options -> scaling.

i know it's not ideal but since Winamp is using a custom ui, the windows scaling option causes issues with how that works (i believe the click failure stems from one part of the window not being auto-scaled by the OS) but it's at least able to be worked around using the native Winamp options.
