  • Winamp volume.... Help

    Well, hello everybody.

    I have this weird problem.

Every time I play on winamp I use my laptop's volume controls (Fn+Vol Up/Vol Down) so I don't need to go into winamp and change it, but when I use the volume keys it starts showing like this:

There's actually no problem until now, but when I close my laptop's lid (I changed the option so it doesn't sleep when I close it) and open it, the volume starts decreasing (only in winamp) and then it shows like this:

So, as you can see, the volume drops automatically, and I need to adjust the lower slider.... I don't really know if this has a solution, I've tried unchecking the volume control at winamp's output plugins, but there's no response, I don't know if that's even the problem, heh, but any help would be appreciated..

    Thanks!

    Hi LeionKeY,

I don't see a difference in the pictures for the level settings (3 little gray lines to the right of each slider).

Different songs are shown. If you are concerned with different songs with the same style or genre having noticeably different overall output volume, then Winamp's ReplayGain feature may be able to help.

Emm the problem is that the second slider of volume starts showing and then it automatically changes the volume whenever I close and open my laptop's lid... If the format is the problem, I just play flacs...

        Well, for you to understand...

As you can see, there are 2 volume sliders at Winamp's volume, but when I close and open my laptop's lid, the lower slider (which is indicated) is the one who's controlling my volume... I don't even know why there are 2 sliders, if it's supposed to be just 1...

        Thanks

(Maybe it's just a Windows option, but if there's a solution for it, I'd appreciate if you help me)

never seen that before, though maybe it's something to do with communication devices or something weird like that. you'd just have to work though all of the sound playback and recording device settings in Windows to try to determine the cause.

            Oh finally!!!!!!

The problem was the communication devices as you said. I changed the option "Reduce the volume of other sounds by 80%" to "Do nothing" and FIXED!!!

Thanks for giving me a clue DrO...

I've posted this elsewhere in the forums, but windows has a feature where it will turn down the volume automatically when it senses a chat call or similar coming in. when the call is over its supposed to turn things back up but I find it doesn't work so I disable it. good idea terribly implemented.
