  • Font becomes weird on skin change

When im changing skins sometimes the font of the media library and the sidebar items become weird, like this

Whats causing this? I also get the same thing when i use Winamp in a virtual machine, however there its constantly like this...
*If you have issues with Winamp, ensure you have the currently latest version Winamp v5.666 build 3516 & its patches that fix several issues
*To remove the currently dead Winamp online stuff, see here: removing online stuff
*If you miss the Autotag feature: Gracenote CDDB Autotag alternatives

it's a known issue (and is one that has cropped up on and off over the years) and there is not much you can do about it. sometimes manually causing a change of the font can get it to correct itself (using Ctrl+Enter in the main playlist editor) but it's not worked for everyone who has seen the issue.

it's caused by some sort of race condition in the skinning code which i'm hoping by consolidating how the skinning updates are done will resolve it once and for all when a new client is eventually released.

the problem is i'm not able to replicate the issue - i've seen it in the past (which is how it got fixed previously), but with this new instance of the issue, i've not been able to replicate it, though i'm hoping that by consolidating all of the skinning code, it may help to prevent it happening (but i'm not sure).

Maybe it only happens when switching between certain skins? It doesnt happen when switching to some particular skins, from the skins that do make that happen, among them are:

          -cPro Das Skin by zrco
          -cPro Ironise by peacemaker
          -cPro Pure Winamp by Verocka
-cPro Dark Aluminum final by Victhor

I get it i suppose when switching to those skins, maybe if you try and replicate the issue with those skins it might be known why?

the skin generally doesn't matter (though has the potential to trigger the issue) as the other users who reported the issue were seeing it when changing between the library views (so no skin change). and i've tried it with multiple skins (including colour theme changes within the same skin).

and when i was able to replicate and fix it last time, it took almost a year to finally manage to replicate it on one specific machine i had at the time. so i'm not disagreeing that something is happening which should not be, but the sheer nature of the issue means it's a pain to try to track down.

Ah, i see Speaking of colour themes, when i change from colour themes after changing a skin, Winamp will sometimes list the colour themes of the previous skin and once i select the color them within the submenu, itll crash Winamp

If i use the colour theme chooser within Winamp's main preferences page however this bug doesnt seem to appear.

i fixed the menu issue ~2months ago in the internal builds (which has been broken for a while it seems).
