    Offline Lyrics Plugin

    Very few people know that there is special field inside of ID3v2 tag (which is a part of most MP3 files) capable of storing song lyrics, synchronized or not.
    I, being (obviously) one of those people, had written a little utility that loads song lyrics from lyrics.wikia.com and then embed fetched lyrics inside file's tag, so I can watch these lyrics on my Android device using third party player.
    Now I want to do so on my PC, but I can't even check embedded lyrics in file info. I want to see some kind of window in Winamp that shows selected/playing song lyrics from file's tag, if present. I don't need no online lyrics fetching.

    Is there any plugin available, or I better make it myself?

      In my skin Quinto Black CT there is an option called "Lyrics (Offline)", which basically is an additional window showing saved text lines. It is not a plug-in. You have to create text files in the song's folder, grab the lyrics from an internet page and paste them into those text files. I know, it is not the way user would use it, but for some of us the only way to have song lyrics while being offline.

      If you could create an "Offline Lyrics plug-in", which would grab song lyrics from the internet, save them as a text file (you cannot save them in a song's tag) this would be a nice stuff to have.

              Oh, and writing data into tag is simple, my app already does it, the main problem is reading it

                  It can be easily modified to save fetched texts wherever it is needed, but I don't see any reason to implement this as plugin rather than standalone app. But at first I would try to let the skin read file's tag lyrics. I'm not quite familiar with API, though
